Fulfillment.
Bible Prophecy: False
Witnesses Condemn The Messiah, Yet He, Remained Silent.
Bible Texts:
The Prophecy Of False Witnesses:
Psalm 27:11,12
NLT
11 Teach Me how
to live, O Lord. Lead Me along the right path, for My enemies are
waiting for Me.
12 Do not let
Me fall into their hands. For they accuse Me of things I’ve never
done; with every breath they threaten Me with violence.
Psalm 35:11,12
NLT
11 Malicious
witnesses testify against Me. They accuse Me of crimes I know nothing
about.
12 They repay
Me evil for good. I am sick with despair.
Prophecy
Fulfillment:
Matthew 26:59-61
KJV
59 Now the
chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness
against Jesus, to put Him to death;
60 But found
none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At
the last came two false witnesses,
61 And said,
This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to
build it in three days.
False Witnesses:
And said, This
fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and
to build it in three days.
Jesus, never said
that He, would destroy any temple!
These men were
liars.
John 2:19-21 KJV
19 Jesus
answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I
will raise it up.
20 Then said
the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt
thou rear it up in three days?
21 But
He spake of the temple of His body.
And in 3 days, from His death, He was resurrected from the dead.
Matthew 16:21
KJV
From that time
forth began Jesus to shew unto His disciples, how that He must go
unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief
priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third
day.
Prophecy Of The Messiahs' Silence:
Isaiah 53:7 KJV
He was
oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is
brought as A Lamb to the slaughter, and as A Sheep before her
shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth.
Psalm 38:13,14
NLT
13 But I am
deaf to all their threats. I am silent before them as one who cannot
speak.
14 I choose to
hear nothing, and I make no reply.
Prophecy (Of
Silence) Fulfillment:
Matthew 26:62,63
NLT
62 Then the
high priest stood up and said to Jesus, “Well, aren’t you going
to answer these charges? What do you have to say for yourself?”
63 But Jesus
remained silent.
Matthew 27:12-14
NLT
12 But when the
leading priests and the elders made their accusations against Him,
Jesus remained silent.
13 “Don’t
you hear all these charges they are bringing against you?” Pilate
demanded.
14 But Jesus
made no response to any of the charges, much to the governor’s
surprise.
Dear Christian, our Lord has told us...
John 13:15 KJV
For I have
given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
Matthew 5:11 KJV
Blessed are ye,
when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all
manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake.
I Peter 3:13-18 NLT (Suffering for Doing Good)
13 Now, who
will want to harm you if you are eager to do good?
14 But even if
you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So
don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.
15 Instead, you
must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about
your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.
16 But do this
in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if
people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a
good life you live because you belong to Christ.
17 Remember, it
is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than
to suffer for doing wrong!
18 Christ
suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but He died
for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical
death, but He was raised to life in The Spirit.
Psalm 27:14 KJV
Wait on The
Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait,
I say, on The Lord.
Prayer:
Romans 10:9,
10 KJV
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth The Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from
the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth
unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
Salvation.
