Tomb-Three Days In The

Bible Questions Answered:
“Christ died on Friday afternoon, night, how do  you get three days in the grave when He is supposed to have risen Sunday morning?....”
Benard/ Stuttgart, Germany

Bible Answer:

We today, think of a day as an 24 hour event. Yet, we think of someone born on the 12th of April at 11:50 P.M. As being born on the day of the 12th, when in effect they were born on the last 10 minutes of the day.

A day  in the Jewish realm (1st Century), could be any part of a day, and yet considered a day.

And this is just the case of the Lord Jesus being 3 days in the tomb. He was in effect in the tomb, 3 parts of different days.

Friday till sunset,:one day. (16th of Nisan.)
Saturday morning till Saturday sunset: second day. (17th Nisan)
Sunset Saturday night till Sunday morning: third day.(18th Nisan)

Thus we see Christ was in the tomb three days, (i.e. parts of days), as we know it in our time.

Resurrection Foretold:

Matthew 16:21 KJV
From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto His disciples, how that He must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

Matthew 26:32 KJV
But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

Mark 9:9 KJV
And as they came down from the mountain, He charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of Man were risen from the dead.

John 2:19 KJV
Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Acts 26:22 KJV
22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
23 That Christ should suffer, and that He should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

Announced by Angels:

Matthew 28:5,6 KJV
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Mark 16:5,6 KJV
5 And entering into the sepulcher, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: He is risen; He is not here: behold the place where they laid Him.

Luke 24:6, KJV
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how He spake unto you when He was yet in Galilee,
34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how He was known of them in breaking of bread.
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 And He said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself: handle Me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see Me have.
40 And when He had thus spoken, He shewed them His hands and His feet.
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, He said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And He took it, and did eat before them.
44 And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me.
45 Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

John 20:19,20 KJV
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
20 And when He had so said, He shewed unto them His hands and His side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the LORD.

Acts 10:39-41 KJV
39 And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed Him openly;
41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with Him after He rose from the dead.

Romans 10:8-10 KJV
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Sacrament

Bible Questions Answered:
“Why do they call communion a sacrament?”
Aletha/ Fort Lauder dale, Florida

Bible Answer:

In Christianity any of certain rites instituted by Jesus and believed to be a means of grace.
Something regarded as having a sacred character or mysterious meaning. A symbol or token, a solemn oath or pledge. Rites preformed by the clergy.
New World Dictionary

The word “sacrament,” is derived from the Latin word “Sacramento.”
Sacramento stood for a solemn oath of obedience to the general, or again, fidelity to the standard.
These oaths were made by Roman legionaries to the Roman army.

For Christians,
A open ceremony showing what has happened to them spiritually. Christians celebrate two sacraments, baptism and the Lord's Supper.

In baptism and the Lord's Supper we soldiers of the cross, show our undying allegiance to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Mark 16:16 KJV (Baptism)
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Luke 22:19 KJV (I Corinthians 11:25 KJV)
(Last Supper)
this do in remembrance of Me.

Where is your allegiance? If it is to Christ, then you are to demonstrate it! Sacramento,-openly pledge your allegiance!

As of this writing, many Christian believers have paid with their lives in Abuja, Nigeria.

In Laos
Christians are subject to imprisonment, blackmail and threats designed to make them renounce their faith.
The most frequent cases of persecution are against the Protestant Christian community:
Food is often denied to Laotian farmers to force them to renounce Christianity. Their pastors are arrested by the authorities. Protestant pastors have been thrown in prison for six months or more.

Declare your Sacrament!

Romans 10:10 KJV
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Revelation 12:11 NLT
And they have defeated him by the Blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.

Matthew 28:20 KJV
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Death Psalm

Bible Questions Answered:
“Rev. I was at funeral the other day, and I thought I heard the pastor say he was reading from the death psalm, was that what he was saying? I never heard of that one before.”
Rodney/ Elmhurst, New York U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Yes that is right, and the psalm most likely referred to was Psalm 90.

Psalm 90:1-17 NLT
(A prayer of Moses, the man of God.)
1 Lord, through all the generations you have been our home!
2 Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God.
3 You turn people back to dust, saying, “Return to dust, you mortals!”
4 For you, a thousand years are as a passing day, as brief as a few night hours.
5 You sweep people away like dreams that disappear. They are like grass that springs up in the morning.
6 In the morning it blooms and flourishes, but by evening it is dry and withered.
7 We wither beneath your anger; we are overwhelmed by your fury.
8 You spread out our sins before you— our secret sins—and you see them all.
9 We live our lives beneath your wrath, ending our years with a groan.
10 Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty.
But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away.
11 Who can comprehend the power of your anger? Your wrath is as awesome as the fear you deserve.
12 Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.
13 O Lord, come back to us! How long will you delay? Take pity on your servants!
14 Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.
15 Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery! Replace the evil years with good.
16 Let us, your servants, see you work again; let our children see your glory.
17 And may the Lord our God show us His approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!

Psalm 90, considered to be the oldest of Psalms, was a prayer of Moses. Some think the prayer in response to the events of Numbers 14:22,23.

The Psalm speaks of the frailty of earthly man, and the eternalness of Almighty God.
God is eternal, but earthly man is mortal, and his days numbered.

Psalm 90:1-6 NLT
1 Lord, through all the generations you have been our home!
2 Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God.
3 You turn people back to dust, saying, “Return to dust, you mortals!”
4 For you, a thousand years are as a passing day, as brief as a few night hours.
5 You sweep people away like dreams that disappear. They are like grass that springs up in the morning.
6 In the morning it blooms and flourishes, but by evening it is dry and withered.

 Deuteronomy 33:27 KJV
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms..."

Psalm 103:15,16 KJV
15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

Psalm 145:13 KJV
Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

II Peter 3:8 KJV
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Revelation 1:8 KJV
I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Psalm 90:7-11 NLT
7 We wither beneath your anger; we are overwhelmed by your fury.
8 You spread out our sins before you— our secret sins—and you see them all.
9 We live our lives beneath your wrath, ending our years with a groan.
10 Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty.
But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away.
11 Who can comprehend the power of your anger? Your wrath is as awesome as the fear you deserve.

Hebrews 9:27 KJV
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Psalm 130:3 KJV
If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

Psalm 2:22 KJV
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.

Isaiah 59:2 KJV
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear.

Isaiah 64:6 KJV
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Romans 1:18 KJV
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Romans 2:8 KJV
But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

Jeremiah 2:22 NLT
No amount of soap or lye can make you clean. I still see the stain of your guilt. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!

Micah 7:19 KJV
He will turn again, He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Ephesians 5:6 KJV
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

John 3:36 KJV
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Psalm 90:12 NLT
Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.

Ephesians 5:15-17 NLT
15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.
16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

Colossians 4:5,6 NLT
5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.
6 Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.

Psalm 90:13-17 NLT
13 O Lord, come back to us! How long will you delay? Take pity on your servants!
14 Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.
15 Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery! Replace the evil years with good.
16 Let us, your servants, see you work again; let our children see your glory.
17 And may the Lord our God show us His approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!

Oh, the wondrous Mercy of our living God.

Psalm 103:17 KJV
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children's children;

Lamentations 3:22,23 KJV
22 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Joel 2:12,13 NLT
12 That is why the Lord says, “Turn to Me now, while there is time. Give Me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning.
13 Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.”Return to the Lord your God, for He is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.

Micah 7:18,19 NLT
18 Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of His special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love.
19 Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!

Man is finite, God is infinite. Man is mortal, God is immortal. Man is of the flesh, that perishes, God is of the eternal Spirit.

Man is laden with sin. God is righteous, pure and holy. Man fails, God never fails. Man stumbles and falls, morally, Our God is righteous.

Man is born into sin. God knows no sin. Mans attempt at self-righteousness, is an utter and complete darkened failure. Our God, in Him is no darkness.

Man's strength faileth, but God is great in might and strong in power. Man grows old and dies.
Our God is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever, the Ancient of Days.

Do you know this great living God?

Mark Of The Beast-Escaped The

Bible Questions Answered:
“Pastor, will everyone receive the mark of the beast after the rapture?”
Eric/ Edmonton, Canada

Bible Answer:

Although the influence of the False Prophet and Ant-Christ, will be great in the world. Yet the Anti-Christ will have all he can do to maintain his influence on the ten European Common Market countries.
The Anti-Christ, though enterprising, is “not,” God, meaning that he is not all powerful, all knowing, and everywhere existent.

As has well been said, by many, if the whole world takes the mark, then there would be no one to survive the  Tribulation.

But, Arabs, Jews, and members from all nations will, indeed survive, having “not,” taken the mark of the beast.

Isaiah 19:1-25 NLT
1 This message came to me concerning Egypt: Look! The Lord is advancing against Egypt, riding on a swift cloud.
The idols of Egypt tremble. The hearts of the Egyptians melt with fear.
2 “I will make Egyptian fight against Egyptian— brother against brother, neighbor against neighbor, city against city, province against province.
3 The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will confuse their plans.
They will plead with their idols for wisdom and call on spirits, mediums, and those who consult the spirits of the dead.
4 I will hand Egypt over to a hard, cruel master. A fierce king will rule them,” says the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
5 The waters of the Nile will fail to rise and flood the fields. The riverbed will be parched and dry.
6 The canals of the Nile will dry up, and the streams of Egypt will stink with rotting reeds and rushes.
7 All the greenery along the riverbank and all the crops along the river will dry up and blow away.
8 The fishermen will lament for lack of work. Those who cast hooks into the Nile will groan, and those who use nets will lose heart.
9 There will be no flax for the harvesters, no thread for the weavers.
10 They will be in despair, and all the workers will be sick at heart.
11 What fools are the officials of Zoan! Their best counsel to the king of Egypt is stupid and wrong.
Will they still boast to Pharaoh of their wisdom? Will they dare brag about all their wise ancestors?
12 Where are your wise counselors, Pharaoh? Let them tell you what God plans, what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is going to do to Egypt.
13 The officials of Zoan are fools, and the officials of Memphis are deluded.
The leaders of the people have led Egypt astray.
14 The Lord has sent a spirit of foolishness on them, so all their suggestions are wrong.
They cause Egypt to stagger like a drunk in his vomit.
15 There is nothing Egypt can do. All are helpless—the head and the tail, the noble palm branch and the lowly reed.
16 In that day the Egyptians will be as weak as women. They will cower in fear beneath the upraised fist of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
17 Just to speak the name of Israel will terrorize them, for the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has laid out his plans against them.
18 In that day five of Egypt’s cities will follow the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. They will even begin to speak Hebrew, the language of Canaan. One of these cities will be Heliopolis, the City of the Sun.
19 In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the heart of Egypt, and there will be a monument to the Lord at its border.
20 It will be a sign and a witness that the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is worshiped in the land of Egypt. When the people cry to the Lord for help against those who oppress them, He will send them a Savior who will rescue them. 21 The Lord will make Himself known to the Egyptians. Yes, they will know the Lord and will give their sacrifices and offerings to Him. They will make a vow to the Lord and will keep it.
22 The Lord will strike Egypt, and then He will bring healing. For the Egyptians will turn to the Lord, and He will listen to their pleas and heal them.
23 In that day Egypt and Assyria will be connected by a highway. The Egyptians and Assyrians will move freely between their lands, and they will both worship God.
24 And Israel will be their ally. The three will be together, and Israel will be a blessing to them.
25 For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will say, “Blessed be Egypt, My people. Blessed be Assyria, the land I have made. Blessed be Israel, My special possession!”

Zechariah 14:1-21 NLT (Revelation 12:14)
1 Watch, for the day of the Lord is coming when your possessions will be plundered right in front of you!
2 I will gather all the nations to fight against Jerusalem. The city will be taken, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half the population will be taken into captivity, and the rest will be left among the ruins of the city.
3 Then the Lord will go out to fight against those nations, as He has fought in times past.
4 On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem. And the Mount of Olives will split apart, making a wide valley running from east to west. Half the mountain will move toward the north and half toward the south.
5 You will flee through this valley, for it will reach across to Azal. Yes, you will flee as you did from the earthquake in the days of King Uzziah of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all His holy ones with Him.
6 On that day the sources of light will no longer shine,
7 yet there will be continuous day! Only the Lord knows how this could happen. There will be no normal day and night, for at evening time it will still be light.
8 On that day life-giving waters will flow out from Jerusalem, half toward the Dead Sea and half toward the Mediterranean, flowing continuously in both summer and winter.
9 And the Lord will be King over all the earth. On that day there will be one Lord—His name alone will be worshiped.
10 All the land from Geba, north of Judah, to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem, will become one vast plain. But Jerusalem will be raised up in its original place and will be inhabited all the way from the Benjamin Gate over to the site of the old gate, then to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses.
11 And Jerusalem will be filled, safe at last, never again to be cursed and destroyed.
12 And the Lord will send a plague on all the nations that fought against Jerusalem. Their people will become like walking corpses, their flesh rotting away. Their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
13 On that day they will be terrified, stricken by the Lord with great panic. They will fight their neighbors hand to hand.
14 Judah, too, will be fighting at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the neighboring nations will be captured—great quantities of gold and silver and fine clothing.
15 This same plague will strike the horses, mules, camels, donkeys, and all the other animals in the enemy camps.
16 In the end, the enemies of Jerusalem who survive the plague will go up to Jerusalem each year to worship the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, and to celebrate the Festival of Shelters.
17 Any nation in the world that refuses to come to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, will have no rain.
18 If the people of Egypt refuse to attend the festival, the Lord will punish them with the same plague that He sends on the other nations who refuse to go.
19 Egypt and the other nations will all be punished if they don’t go to celebrate the Festival of Shelters.
20 On that day even the harness bells of the horses will be inscribed with these words: Holy to the Lord. And the cooking pots in the Temple of the Lord will be as sacred as the basins used beside the altar.
21 In fact, every cooking pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. All who come to worship will be free to use any of these pots to boil their sacrifices. And on that day there will no longer be traders in the Temple of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Yes, many shall escape the clutches of the Fierce King, but that is not to say they will deeply suffer in doing so.
Tribulation martyrs in heaven, tell us of some of the plagues they suffered, and then ultimately death.

Revelation 7:13-17 KJV
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

It is not the will of God, that any should go through the coming days of Jacobs Trouble (Tribulation Judgments).

II Peter 3:9 KJV
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

John 3:14-17 KJV
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of The Power Of The Holy Spirit: Crippled Man Leaps For Joy

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of The Power Of The Holy Spirit: Crippled Man Leaps For Joy.

God's Messenger: Apostle Paul.

Bible Location: Lystra.

Bible Text:
Acts 14:8-11 KJV
8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:
9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.

Acts 14:8 KJV
And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:

There was not a Jewish synagog at Lystra, and so no doubt Paul and Barnabas preached in Lystra's market place or town square.

Here sat a man that all knew well. A man who had crippled feet, could not walk, and who begged alms for sustenance.

What heart ache he must have experienced over a “life-time,” of misery. Not being able to run and play as a child, and later, not being able to work or have friends, as others. There had been no answer, and there would be no answer, surely he thought.

And how often isn't it the truth, “man does “not,” have an answer.” And often when it does, it is a wrong one!

But come to town, were two strangers, talking of someone called the Messiah.

Persecution oft was the impetuous of evangelism! Paul and Barnabas on run for their lives, having fled from mob persecution at Iconium, had come some 18 miles away south to Lystra.
Paul and Barnabas, ran away from trouble, but trouble, did not run away from them, ...another story.

The lame man, listened intently to the Apostle. Had he heard before of this one Jesus Christ, perhaps, perhaps not. One thing we may know, he not only listened intently, in his heart, he believed intently as well!

Maybe it would be a miraculous answer of God, if more were in predicaments of displeasure, so as to have the time to be seeking, honestly searching, grasping for answers from the God of all creation.
And perhaps the God of all condescending mercies will indeed allow such,... time will tell.

Acts 14:9 KJV
The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed

The Apostle Paul, a former Pharisee, and persecutor of the church of Jesus Christ, now a born-again Jew, Spirit baptized and, Holy Spirit endued with power from on high.

Looking at the crippled man, the Apostle saw a spark of faith, in eyes that had grown dim over the years.

Romans 10:17 KJV
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

And in a commanding voice of faith said to the lame man...

Acts 14:10 KJV
“...Stand upright on thy feet...”

Hebrews 11:1,6 KJV
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Acts 14:10 KJV'
“...And he leaped and walked.”

No, this verse does not speak of tears, tears of joy, and utter bewilderment, as to why now, where were you so many years ago, Paul?

These things we must leave with the great I AM.

What was important, was what man could “not” do, the living God had done!
Oh why, why do men shut God out of their lives, when He, who is with us, and all, is so loving and
kind?

Psalm 103:4 KJV
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies;

Psalm 145:9 KJV
The LORD is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works.

Lamentations 3:22 KJV
It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.

Where are those who will seek God first?
And what is the price of seeing men set free?

It is as our Saviour told us.

Mark 9:29 KJV
And He said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Luke 24:49 KJV (The Day of Pentecost.)
And, behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

I Corinthians 13:1 KJV (Apostle Paul)
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

I Corinthians 14:18 KJV (Apostle Paul)
I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

The Apostle Paul had experienced Pentecost in his life, and as a result, others were the better for it.

Acts 14:11 KJV
And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.

John 3:1,2 KJV
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a Teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with Him.

Men will know, when we are God's servant.

Luke 14:33 KJV
So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be My disciple.

I John 2:15-17 KJV
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

John 4:34-37 KJV
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work.
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

Sheep-People As

Bible Questions Answered:
“Why are people called sheep?”
Shelby, Pelotas, Brazil

Bible Answer:

Because of the similarities between sheep and men.

Sheep need a shepherd.
Sheep need to be lead.
Sheep need a Shepherd and a pavilion to be protected (A place of safety could often be a cave, wherein the shepherd spent the night in watch at the opening, becoming the door way to the sheep, to protect them, as they are defenseless against predators.
Sheep need to be lead to still waters, else they will not drink, and to pasture.
Sheep need to hear the voice of their shepherd, another they will not follow.
Etc. etc.

Ezekiel 34:31 KJV
And ye My flock, the flock of My pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD.

John 10:1-15 KJV
1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the Door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that entereth in by the Door is the Shepherd of the sheep.
3 To Him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear His voice: and He calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when He putteth forth His own sheep, He goeth before them, and the sheep follow Him: for they know His voice.
5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which He spake unto them.
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the Door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before Me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the Door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the Good Shepherd: the Good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep.
12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am the Good Shepherd, and know My sheep, and am known of Mine.
15 As the Father knoweth Me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down My life for the sheep.

Psalm 23:1-6 KJV
1 The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Isaiah 40:11 KJV
He shall feed His flock like a Shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Yes, our Shepherd, the Great Shepherd, when facing the evil enemy, gave His life for the sheep.

Hebrews 13:20 KJV
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that Great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

I Peter 2:25 KJV
For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

And the sheep follow, their shepherd.

Matthew 10:16 KJV
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Romans 8:36 KJV (Psalm 44:22) (True of 1st Century Christians, and many others down through the centuries of time.)
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Revelation 6:9-11 KJV
9 And when He had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Revelation 12:11 KJV
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Revelation 2:10 KJV
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

I Peter 5:4 KJV
And when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Psalm 79:13 KJV
So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.

Great White Throne Judgment

Bible Questions Answered:
“...some of these leaders think that they will get away with their sins, but there is coming a judgment day for them right?”
Lukman/ Cairo, Egypt

Bible Answer:

Yes, they may well get away with atrocities here and now but at death and at a place called the Great White Throne judgment, they will be sentenced for eternity by Almighty God.

Hebrews 9:27 KJV
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

II Peter 2:9 KJV
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Men determine in this life, where they will spend eternity.
This is mans' judgment upon themselves.

Someone who has rejected God, in their life, will go to a place, of God rejecters.
That place the Word of God, describes as hell, a place of God's wrath, and torment.

Matthew 25:30 KJV
And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Mark 9:43-48 NLT
43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one hand than to go into the unquenchable fires of hell with two hands.
45 If your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one foot than to be thrown into hell with two feet.
47 And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out. It’s better to enter the Kingdom of God with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell,
48 ‘where the maggots never die and the fire never goes out.’

Revelation 21:8 KJV
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Then, after the 2nd Coming of Christ, and His Millennial rule on earth, will come a time called
the Great White Throne judgment.

Psalm 9:16,17 KJV
16 The LORD is known by the judgment which He executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands.
17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God..."

Ecclesiastes 12:14 KJV
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Daniel 7:9,10 KJV
9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of Days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head like the pure wool: His throne was like the fiery flame, and His wheels as burning fire.
10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him: thousand thousands ministered unto Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

Matthew 12:36,37 KJV
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Revelation 20:11-15 KJV
11 And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Now for the one who has received Jesus as Lord, and Saviour....

John 12:26 KJV
If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any man serve Me, him will My Father honor.

John 14:1-6 KJV (Jesus)
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me.
2 In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto Him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

John 17:24 KJV
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am; that they may behold My glory, which thou hast given Me: for thou lovedst Me before the foundation of the world.

II Corinthians 5:8 KJV (For the believer.)
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Revelation 21:1-27 KJV (Heaven)
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that over cometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 22:1-21 KJV
1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him:
4 And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to shew unto His servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.
14 Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whore mongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the Bright and Morning Star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Dear friend, have you received God's Son, mankind's only Saviour, into you heart and life?

John 3:13-21 KJV
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of Man which is in heaven.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only Begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Disciples-When Did They Become Christians?

Bible Questions Answered:

“When did the disciples become Christians?”
Philip/ Stuttgart, Germany

Bible Answer:

One becomes a Christian when he recognizes who Christ is, and his personal need of him, and so confesses that belief.

The Apostles truly became Christian at....

Matthew 16:13-20 KJV
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of Man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this Rock I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20 Then charged He His disciples that they should tell no man that He was Jesus the Christ.

Peter confessed that Jesus was “the Christ, the Son of the living God.
His confession was about the “Rock upon which the church stands.”

A great Bible study is to research all the times the word “Rock,” appears in the Old Testament (some 105 times), and yes Peter was not around!

Example: (Just a couple here but read them all.)

Psalm 18:2,3,46 KJV
2 The LORD is my Rock, and my Fortress, and my Deliverer; my God, my Strength, in whom I will trust; my Buckler, and the horn of my Salvation, and my High Tower.
3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies
31 For who is God save the LORD? or who is a Rock save our God?
46 The LORD liveth; and blessed be my Rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

Psalm 62:1-8 KJV:
1 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from Him cometh my salvation.
2 He only is my Rock and my Salvation; he is my Defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.
6 He only is my Rock and my salvation: He is my defense; I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the Rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
8 Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

New Testament verses concerning the “Rock.”

Romans 9:33 KJV
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a Stumbling Stone and Rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

I Corinthians 10:1-4 KJV
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that Spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

I Peter 2:6-9 KJV
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a Chief Corner Stone, Elect, Precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe He is Precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the Stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the Head of the Corner,
8 And a Stone of Stumbling, and a Rock of Offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

One cannot enter into this discussion without saying a word or two about some who have the misconception that Peter was the rock.

(Matthew 16:16 KJV)
Peter-Greek-Petros (Pet-ros): A piece of rock.
(Abingon's Strong's Concordance)

Now then let  us look at the word rock in Matthew 16:18 KJV
“... upon this Rock I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
There we find....

Rock-Greek-Petra (Pet-ra): A mass of rock.

Christians are chips off the Rock. Little rocks, from the Massive Rock, Jesus Christ, He alone is the Petra!

But didn't the Lord give Peter the Keys of the Kingdom?
Yes, and He gave them to all the disciples, and the church, as well...

Matthew 18:1,18 KJV
1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus...
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye (Keys of the Kingdom, given to all the disciples.) shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

John 20:19-23 KJV (The Keys of the Kingdom given to ten of the Apostles.)
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you.
22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

And they were given to the churches:

Acts 16:4,5 NLT (Decrees of the Jerusalem Council, deliverd to all the churches.)
4 Then they went from town to town, instructing the believers to follow the decisions made by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem.
5 So the churches were strengthened in their faith and grew larger every day.

What are the Keys of the Kingdom? It is the preaching and teaching the Word of God, it is acceptance or rejection of the Word of God, that determines a persons sins forgiven or not.

CONFESSION:

Matthew 10:32,33 KJV
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven.

Luke 12:8,9 KJV
8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess Me before men, him shall the Son of Man also confess before the angels of God:
9 But he that denieth Me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

Romans 10:9-11 KJV
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

Philippians 2:9-11 KJV
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

I John 2:23 KJV
Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

Nathanael's confession:
John 1:49 KJV
Nathanael answered and saith unto Him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

Thomas' confession:
John 20:28 KJV
And Thomas answered and said unto Him, My LORD and my God.

Lent

Bible Questions Answered:
“What is lent?”
Bobbi/ Hattiesburg, Mississippi U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Lent
The period of forty weekdays from Ash Wednesday to Easter, observed variously in Christian Churches by fasting and penitence.

The traditional purpose of Lent is the penitential preparation of the believer—through prayer, penance, repentance, alms giving, and self-denial. Its institutional purpose is heightened in the annual commemoration of Holy Week, marking the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, which recalls the events of the Passion of Christ on Good Friday, which then culminates in the celebration on Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

New World Dictionary Of American English
Wikipedia

Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday, in the calendar of Western Christianity, is the first day of Lent and occurs 46 days before Easter. It is a moveable fast, falling on a different date each year because it is dependent on the date of Easter. It can occur as early as February 4 or as late as March 10.
According to the canonical gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke; Jesus spent 40 days fasting in the desert before the beginning of his public ministry, during which he endured temptation by Satan.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of this 40-day liturgical period of prayer and fasting.
Ash Wednesday derives its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of adherents as a sign of mourning and repentance to God. The ashes used are typically gathered after the palms from the previous year's Palm Sunday are burned.

This practice is common in much of Christendom, being celebrated by Catholics, Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians, and some Baptist denominations.

Wkipedia

The observance of Lent was taken from our Saviour's time of fasting forty days in His being tempted in the wilderness by the devil. No doubt this was patterned after Moses forty days (Exodus 24:18) with the Lord in the mount, and Elijah's forty days in preparation of hearing the voice of the Lord (I Kings 19:8).

Our Saviour faced the temptations of the devil in in His physical weakness, to show His followers, that He could over come him, and that we could over come the tempter ourselves, through the Word of God, and by the power of our overcoming Saviour.

Hebrews 2:18 NLT
Since He Himself has gone through suffering and testing, He is able to help us when we are being tested

The Apostles knew first hand how the evil thoughts of the tempter, should be rebuked, by the Word of God.  And yet, one fell away and was thankfully restored, while another was lost forever.

I Corinthians 10:12 KJV
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

Many Christians do not practice the open show of ashes, fasting or abstinence of meat etc.etc..
Rather, every day they do their prayerful best to live lives “set apart,” in holiness unto the Lord!

Matthew 6:1-8 KJV
1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret Himself shall reward thee openly.
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him.

Our Saviour taught, that “holiness” is not something we wear on our sleeve, but rather is a condition of the heart.

A Last Day Warning:
Worship Mark

Revelation 13:1-15 KJV
1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast (The Ant-Christ) rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon (Satan-Revelation 12:3,4,7) gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

11 And I beheld another beast (A False Spiritual Leader) coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

-Bible Lesson- Miracles Of The Power Of The Holy Spirit- Elymas the sorcerer stricken with blindess

Bible Lesson: Miracles Of The Power Of The Holy Spirit: Elymas, the sorcerer stricken with blindess.

God's Messenger: The Apostle Paul.

Bible Location: Paphos.

Bible Text: Acts 13:4-12 NLT
4 So Barnabas and Saul were sent out by the Holy Spirit. They went down to the seaport of Seleucia and then sailed for the island of Cyprus.
5 There, in the town of Salamis, they went to the Jewish synagogues and preached the word of God. John Mark went with them as their assistant.
6 Afterward they traveled from town to town across the entire island until finally they reached Paphos, where they met a Jewish sorcerer, a false prophet named Bar-Jesus.
7 He had attached himself to the governor, Sergius Paulus, who was an intelligent man. The governor invited Barnabas and Saul to visit him, for he wanted to hear the word of God.
8 But Elymas, the sorcerer (as his name means in Greek), interfered and urged the governor to pay no attention to what Barnabas and Saul said. He was trying to keep the governor from believing.
9 Saul, also known as Paul, was filled with the Holy Spirit, and he looked the sorcerer in the eye.
10 Then he said, “You son of the devil, full of every sort of deceit and fraud, and enemy of all that is good! Will you never stop perverting the true ways of the Lord?
11 Watch now, for the Lord has laid his hand of punishment upon you, and you will be struck blind. You will not see the sunlight for some time.” Instantly mist and darkness came over the man’s eyes, and he began groping around begging for someone to take his hand and lead him.
12 When the governor saw what had happened, he became a believer, for he was astonished at the teaching about the Lord.

In the Antioch church five men were known as prophets and teachers, of the first three prophets, the last two teachers.

Acts 13:1-3 NLT
1 Among the prophets and teachers of the church at Antioch of Syria were Barnabas, Simeon (called “the black man”), Lucius (from Cyrene), Manaen (the childhood companion of King Herod Antipas), and Saul.
2 One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Dedicate Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.”
3 So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.

Barnabas, and Saul, were on their first missionary journey, having been called and set apart for the ministry by the Holy Spirit. And they were not alone for a young man named John Mark (a nephew of Barnabas),  accompanied them.

Leaving Antioch, they set sail form Seleucia to the island of Cyprus, the south-eastern city of Salamis. Once there they began preaching the word of God, in Jewish synagogs.

Paul and Barnabas preached their way to the western part of Cyprus  (no less than some 100 miles). It was there at the western capital city of Paphos, where they met a Jew by the name Bar-Jesus, a sorcerer,
and Sergius Paulus the  Roman Magistrate of the country.

Bar-Jesus was both adviser, and magician to Sergius Paulus.
Having heard of Paul and Barnabas, Sergius Paulus, sent for them to hear their preaching.
No doubt he asked them many questions.

Acts 13:8 NLT
But Elymas, the sorcerer (as his name means in Greek), interfered and urged the governor to pay no attention to what Barnabas and Saul said. He was trying to keep the governor from believing.

Where ever the work of God, certainly the enemy will appear with his opposition!

John 10:10 KJV
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

Elymas, not wanting anyone else to be a counselor to the Roman Magistrate, so he warned him not to listen to what Paul and Barnabas had to say.

Acts 13:9-11 NLT
9 Saul, also known as Paul, was filled with the Holy Spirit, and he looked the sorcerer in the eye.
10 Then he said, “You son of the devil, full of every sort of deceit and fraud, and enemy of all that is good! Will you never stop perverting the true ways of the Lord?
11 Watch now, for the Lord has laid his hand of punishment upon you, and you will be struck blind. You will not see the sunlight for some time.” Instantly mist and darkness came over the man’s eyes, and he began groping around begging for someone to take his hand and lead him.

The Apostle Paul filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, said to Elymas the sorcerer ...
10...“You son of the devil, full of every sort of deceit and fraud, and enemy of all that is good! Will you never stop perverting the true ways of the Lord?
11 Watch now, for the Lord has laid his hand of punishment upon you, and you will be struck blind. You will not see the sunlight for some time.

And the results of this judgment were immediate, total blindness.
The God, the Apostle spoke of was alive all powerful, and ready to answer prayer.
Sergius Paulus believed the gospel!

Acts 13:12 NLT
When the governor saw what had happened, he became a believer, for he was astonished at the teaching about the Lord.

I John 3:8 KJV
"...For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil."

Archeological Cyprian inscriptions have been excavated, showing that Sergius Paulus was numbered with the belivers*.

*Cobern, The New Archeological Discoveries, 538-540.

Opposition, by Satan and his emissaries, must not detour us from preaching and teaching the wonderful Word of God! There are so many hungry souls in the world waiting to hear the truth of the gospel, as was Sergius Paulus.

Luke 10:19 KJV
"Behold, I give unto you power...over all the power of the enemy..."

I John 4:4 KJV
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Revelation 12:11 KJV
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony..."

Resurrection-Tribulation Saints

Bible Questions Answered:
“A question, many believers are killed for their faith at the tribulation. When are these people resurrected?

Bible Answer:

Be sure to read under the heading “Resurrection,” on view a list of subjects.
All together, God's people will have three resurrections.

The first resurrection was that of the Lord Jesus Christ, and many others at His resurrection.

Luke 24:36-48 KJV (Read the whole chapter.)

Matthew 27:50-53 KJV
50 Jesus, when He had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost (Spirit).
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

The second resurrection will be the secret catching away of the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, called the rapture. (Imminent.)

I Corinthians 15:51-58 KJV (See also I Thessalonians 4:13-18.)
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

The Third resurrection will be at our Lord's 2nd Coming, when He with His church returns to...end the battle of Armageddon, and to Judge the nations, and set up His Millennial kingdom. Martyred saints will be united with their glorified bodies.

Matthew 25:31,32 KJV
31 When the Son of Man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory:
32 And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another, as a Shepherd divideth His sheep from the goats:

II  Timothy 4:1 NLT
I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when He appears to set up His Kingdom:

Jude 14,15 KJV
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.

Revelation 20:4 NLT
Then I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them had been given the authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus and for proclaiming the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his statue, nor accepted his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They all came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

There will be a fourth resurrection, of the wicked dead, at the Great White Throne Judgment.

Some see....
Leviticus 23:15-22 KJV (Festival of the Harvest-a type of three Godly resurrections)

15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:
16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.
17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.
18 And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the LORD, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the LORD.
19 Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.
20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
22 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.

First the wave-sheaf of the first fruits, then the main harvest, thirdly the gleanings of the harvest.

Matthew 24:44 KJV
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh.

Judgment Of False Teachers

Bible Questions Answered:
“Pastor I haven't seen on your "View a list of subjects" this questions answered, so … our world is full of false teachers, just what will be their judgment in hell?”

Bible Answer:

To teach men to deny the only Saviour of the world, no judgment could be sever enough, only God knows, the depths of hell with which they will be rewarded with.

But not all false teachers, will be sent to hell.
OK, read that again.

As hard as it may be to believe, there are “some” preachers who may well teach Christ the only way to the Father, and that indeed He is the Saviour of the world.
“But,” yet teach other doctrines that are “not,” correct according to the Word of God.

Will their fate be hell?
No, but they will suffer certain loss of any position of honor, with the Lord.

Scripture:
Matthew 5:19 KJV
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

There must be a lesson here, right?

How careful, how careful, how careful, must be the saint of God, who preaches and teaches the blessed forever Word of God!

James 3:1 KJV
My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

James 3:1 NLT
Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly.

Some will without doubt, one day, be called “the great,” of heaven, having taught the true word of God, without fear for their lives, earthly positions or wealth.

Others, having taught the rudiments of salvation, yet will have in some areas strayed from the teaching of the Saviour, and who will by their own decree, be called the “least” of the kingdom of heaven.

Examples:

Ezekiel 34:1-11 KJV
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?
3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.
4 The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.
5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.
6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, My flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.
7 Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;
8 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because My flock became a prey, and My flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did My shepherds search for My flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not My flock;
9 Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;
10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require My flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver My flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
11 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search My sheep, and seek them out.

I Peter 5:2 NLT
Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.

Could some Christian teachers spend their time on a “prosperity-gospel,” something our Saviour never preached, for the sake of gathering money? Robbing the sheep of the meat of the word, for the sake of their personal greedy gain? Yes.

Will there be weeping is heaven? Yes, for regret, regret, but alas, too late to make it right then.

Revelation 7:17 KJV
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Deuteronomy 4:2 KJV
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Deuteronomy 12:32 KJV
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Proverbs 30:5,6 KJV
5 Every word of God is pure: He is a Shield unto them that put their trust in Him.
6 Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Revelation 22:18,19 KJV
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

II Timothy 2:15 KJV
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
