Bible Questions Answered:
“I have never heard so much foul language on television, and the visual part is no better...”
Dorthy/ Waynesboro, Virginia U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

There are paid services one may ascribe to, to delete certain television content, be it language or visual, search on the internet.

Also, every flat screen T.V. Has a v chip that may limit language and or certain visual scenes.
All this is true, also of computers.

V-chip
V-chip is a generic term for technology used in television set receivers in Canada, Brazil and the USA, which allows the blocking of programs based on their ratings category. It is intended for use by parents to manage their children's television viewing. Televisions manufactured for the United States market since 1999 and all units as of January 2000 are required to have the V-chip technology.

A computer chip installed in a television receiver that can be programmed by the user to block or scramble material containing a special code in its signal indicating that it is deemed violent or sexually explicit.

Check your television manual, as how to use it's Vchip.

Television Viewing:

Psalm 101:3,4 NLT
3 I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar.I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them.
4 I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil.

Proverbs 8:13 KJV
The fear of The Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Matthew 6:22-24 NLT
22 “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light.
23 But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!
24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other..."

Luke 11:34-36 KJV
34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single (good/pure), thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.
35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.
36 If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

I Corinthians 6:12 NLT
You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.

I Corinthians 15:33 KJV
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Galatians 5:19-21 NLT
19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,
21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Ephesians 5:1-11,15,16 NLT (Living in The Light)
1 Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are His dear children.
2 Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
3 Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people.
4 Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.
5 You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
6 Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey Him.
7 Don’t participate in the things these people do.
8 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have Light from The Lord. So live as people of Light!
9 For this Light within you produces only what is good and right and true.
10 Carefully determine what pleases The Lord.
11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.
15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.
16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.

Philippians 1:9,10 NLT
9 I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.
10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.

Philippians 4:8 KJV
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Colossians 3:1,2 KJV
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on The Right Hand Of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

I Thessalonians 5:21,22 KJV
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

I John 2:15-17 KJV
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of The Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of The Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Just A Closer Walk With Thee

I am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.

Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Through this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.

When my feeble life is o’er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o’er
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.

Bible Lesson: Conversations With Jesus: Sins Against The Holy Spirit.

Bible Text:

Matthew 12:22-37 NLT (Jesus and the Prince of Demons)
22 Then a demon-possessed man, who was blind and couldn’t speak, was brought to Jesus. He healed the man so that he could both speak and see.
23 The crowd was amazed and asked, “Could it be that Jesus is The Son Of David, The Messiah?”
24 But when the Pharisees heard about the miracle, they said, “No wonder He can cast out demons. He gets His power from Satan, the prince of demons.”
25 Jesus knew their thoughts and replied, “Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart.
26 And if Satan is casting out Satan, he is divided and fighting against himself. His own kingdom will not survive.
27 And if I am empowered by Satan, what about your own exorcists? They cast out demons, too, so they will condemn you for what you have said.
28 But if I am casting out demons by The Spirit Of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you.
29 For who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger—someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.
30 “Anyone who isn’t with Me opposes Me, and anyone who isn’t working with Me is actually working against Me.
31 “So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven—except blasphemy against The Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven.
32 Anyone who speaks against The Son Of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against The Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.
33 “A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad.
34 You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.
35 A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart.
36 And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak.
37 The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.”

Mark 3:20-30 NLT (Jesus and the Prince of Demons)
20 One time Jesus entered a house, and the crowds began to gather again. Soon He and His disciples couldn’t even find time to eat.
21 When His family heard what was happening, they tried to take Him away. “He’s out of His mind,” they said.
22 But the teachers of religious law who had arrived from Jerusalem said, “He’s possessed by Satan, the prince of demons. That’s where He gets the power to cast out demons.”
23 Jesus called them over and responded with an illustration. “How can Satan cast out Satan?” He asked.
24 “A kingdom divided by civil war will collapse.
25 Similarly, a family splintered by feuding will fall apart.
26 And if Satan is divided and fights against himself, how can he stand? He would never survive.
27 Let Me illustrate this further. Who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger—someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.
28 “I tell you The Truth, all sin and blasphemy can be forgiven,
29 but anyone who blasphemes The Holy Spirit will never be forgiven. This is a sin with eternal consequences.”
30 He told them this because they were saying, “He’s possessed by an evil spirit.”

Why is it so important, not to sin against, God The Holy Spirit?
Because He is The Life-Giving Spirit.

Romans 8:1,2,15,16 NLT
1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
2 And because you belong to Him, the power of The Life-Giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.”
16 For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.

Illustration:

This story has been told before on TBPL.
That our Savior, The Blessed Redeemer, has been likened to a ship of Life, out on a dark sea of death, and destruction, a sea of lost souls, Lost and dying.
Amidst the howls of wind and waves the Life saving ship of salvation arrives, the one and only way for those lost at sea to be saved.

A lifesaver is thrown to the drowning man, this is the act of God The Holy Spirit, calling him to come to The Lord, to come to the only place of Life and safety, on board the ship of faith, and salvation.

What thinking man, would refuse the lifesaver, but that is just what a sinner does! He insults God's Holy Spirit, by refusing His calling, and His pleading with him.

Genesis 6:3 DBT
And Jehovah said, My Spirit shall not always plead with Man..."

To refuse the lifesaver, to refuse the life-line, is to perish.

Matthew 7:13,14 KJV
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto Life, and few there be that find it.

Bible Topic:

Sin Against The Holy Spirit:

Genesis 6:3 KJV
And The Lord said, My Spirit shall not always strive with man..."

Genesis 6:3 NOG
Then Yahweh said, “My Spirit will not struggle with humans forever..."

I Samuel 16:14 KJV
But The Spirit Of The Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from The Lord troubled him.

Psalm 51:11 KJV (King David)
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.

Isaiah 63:10 KJV
But they rebelled, and vexed His Holy Spirit: therefore He was turned to be their enemy, and He fought against them.

Luke 12:10 KJV
And whosoever shall speak a word against The Son Of Man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against The Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

Acts 5:1-11 NLT
1 But there was a certain man named Ananias who, with his wife, Sapphira, sold some property.
2 He brought part of the money to the apostles, claiming it was the full amount. With his wife’s consent, he kept the rest.
3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to The Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.
4 The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!”
5 As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died. Everyone who heard about it was terrified.
6 Then some young men got up, wrapped him in a sheet, and took him out and buried him.
7 About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.
8 Peter asked her, “Was this the price you and your husband received for your land?” “Yes,” she replied, “that was the price.”
9 And Peter said, “How could the two of you even think of conspiring to test The Spirit of The Lord like this? The young men who buried your husband are just outside the door, and they will carry you out, too.”
10 Instantly, she fell to the floor and died. When the young men came in and saw that she was dead, they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.
11 Great fear gripped the entire church and everyone else who heard what had happened.

Ephesians 4:30 KJV
And grieve not The Holy Spirit Of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

I Thessalonians 5:19 KJV
Quench not The Spirit.

Hebrews 6:4-6 NLT
4 For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in The Holy Spirit,
5 who have tasted the goodness of The Word Of God and The Power of the age to come—
6 and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting The Son Of God, they themselves are nailing Him to the cross once again and holding Him up to public shame.

Hebrews 10:26-29 KJV
26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of The Truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot The Son Of God, and hath counted The Blood Of The Covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto The Spirit Of Grace?

I John 5:16 KJV
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

Jude 1:17-19 NLT
17 But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ predicted.
18 They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires.
19 These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them.

Sins against God The Holy Spirit, refusing the call of salvation, calling the works of God, the works of the devil, rejecting God's Word, and His Work. How careful we must be, not to slight The Spirit Of God.

Blessed Quietness

Joys are flowing like a river,
Since The Comforter has come;
He abides with us forever,
Makes the trusting heart His home.

Chorus:
Blessed quietness, holy quietness,
Blest assurance in my soul!
On the stormy sea, He speaks peace to me,
And the billows cease to roll.

Everything is turned to gladness,
All around this glorious Guest;
Banished unbelief and sadness,
All is perfect peace and rest.

Like the rain that falls from heaven,
Like the sunlight from the sky,
So The Holy Spirit given,
Falls upon us from on high.

What a wonderful salvation,
Where we always see His face!
What a peaceful habitation!
What a quiet resting place!

Prayer Request: George and Darla

The Bible Prayer Line – Prayer Request

Prayer Request:
The following prayer request has come into TBPL. A man named George out on the street, begging for change, says he needs prayer. His story is a man 38 years old, married with four children. Several years ago, his wife had an affair with his best friend. George, was hurt beyond reason, and ran away. Once a month he sees his children, his wife wants him to come back home. George says he is a baptized Christian. Why doesn't he go back, he cannot forgive Darla, his wife. It has been pointed out to this gentleman that our Lord, told Peter, he must forgive, without limit, to this knowledge, George hangs his head and weeps. George has had heart trouble in the past, and is worried, that some how all this must work out, and soon.

Matthew 18:21,22 KJV
21 Then came Peter to Him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Pastor, when you have an altar call, remember it is not, just repentance and faith in The Lord Jesus, it is also, forgiveness of others, not just John 3:16, but Matthew 6:12 as well!!!

Forgiving Others:

Matthew 6:12 KJV (The Lord's Prayer)
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Matthew 6:12 NLT
and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.

Matthew 6:14,15 KJV
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 18:23-35 KJV
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshiped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellow servant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35 So likewise shall My Heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

1 John 4:20 KJV
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

The God of the universe, who sees all, will hear your prayer for George and Darla, and He will answer. Will the books of heaven, show that you cared for them, and prayed?

Revelation 20:12 KJV
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is The Book Of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Come, Ye Disconsolate (without consolation or comfort; unhappy)

Come, ye disconsolate, where’er ye languish,
Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel.
Here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your anguish;
Earth has no sorrow that heav’n cannot heal.

Joy of the desolate, Light of the straying,
Hope of the penitent, fadeless and pure!
Here speaks The Comforter, tenderly saying,
“Earth has no sorrow that heav’n cannot cure.”

Here see The Bread Of Life, see waters flowing
Forth from The Throne Of God, pure from above.
Come to the feast of love; come, ever knowing
Earth has no sorrow but heav’n can remove.

Bible Questions Answered:
“Pastor, could you tell me what revisionism is?...”
Nolan/ Campbell River, Canada British Columbia

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

Revisionism:
A departure from any authoritative or generally accepted doctrine, theory, practice, etc.
Dictionary.Com

Here's a revision we all know.

Genesis 3:1-7 KJV
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which The Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Spiritual death was immediate, physical death, came later.
The devil is a liar...

John 8:44 KJV
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in The Truth, because there is no Truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Revisionism:

I Kings 22:1-38 NLT (Jehoshaphat and Ahab)
1 For three years there was no war between Aram and Israel.
2 Then during the third year, King Jehoshaphat of Judah went to visit King Ahab of Israel.
3 During the visit, the king of Israel said to his officials, “Do you realize that the town of Ramoth-gilead belongs to us? And yet we’ve done nothing to recapture it from the king of Aram!”
4 Then he turned to Jehoshaphat and asked, “Will you join me in battle to recover Ramoth-gilead?” Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel, “Why, of course! You and I are as one. My troops are your troops, and my horses are your horses.”
5 Then Jehoshaphat added, “But first let’s find out what The Lord says.”
6 So the king of Israel summoned the prophets, about 400 of them, and asked them, “Should I go to war against Ramoth-gilead, or should I hold back?” They all replied, “Yes, go right ahead! The Lord will give the king victory.”
7 But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there not also a prophet of The Lord here? We should ask him the same question.”
8 The king of Israel replied to Jehoshaphat, “There is one more man who could consult The Lord for us, but I hate him. He never prophesies anything but trouble for me! His name is Micaiah son of Imlah.” Jehoshaphat replied, “That’s not the way a king should talk! Let’s hear what he has to say.”
9 So the king of Israel called one of his officials and said, “Quick! Bring Micaiah son of Imlah.”

(Micaiah Prophesies against Ahab)

10 King Ahab of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah, dressed in their royal robes, were sitting on thrones at the threshing floor near the gate of Samaria. All of Ahab’s prophets were prophesying there in front of them.
11 One of them, Zedekiah son of Kenaanah, made some iron horns and proclaimed, “This is what The Lord says: With these horns you will gore the Arameans to death!”
12 All the other prophets agreed. “Yes,” they said, “go up to Ramoth-gilead and be victorious, for The Lord will give the king victory!”
13 Meanwhile, the messenger who went to get Micaiah said to him, “Look, all the prophets are promising victory for the king. Be sure that you agree with them and promise success.”
14 But Micaiah replied, “As surely as The Lord lives, I will say only what The Lord tells me to say.”
15 When Micaiah arrived before the king, Ahab asked him, “Micaiah, should we go to war against Ramoth-gilead, or should we hold back?”
Micaiah replied sarcastically, “Yes, go up and be victorious, for The Lord will give the king victory!”
16 But the king replied sharply, “How many times must I demand that you speak only The Truth to me when you speak for The Lord?”
17 Then Micaiah told him, “In a vision I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, like sheep without a shepherd. And The Lord said, ‘Their master has been killed. Send them home in peace.’”
18 “Didn’t I tell you?” the king of Israel exclaimed to Jehoshaphat. “He never prophesies anything but trouble for me.”
19 Then Micaiah continued, “Listen to what The Lord says! I saw The Lord sitting on His throne with all the armies of heaven around Him, on His right and on His left.
20 And The Lord said, ‘Who can entice Ahab to go into battle against Ramoth-gilead so he can be killed?’ “There were many suggestions,
21 and finally a spirit approached The Lord and said, ‘I can do it!’
22 “‘How will you do this?’ The Lord asked. “And the spirit replied, ‘I will go out and inspire all of Ahab’s prophets to speak lies.’
“‘You will succeed,’ said The Lord. ‘Go ahead and do it.’
23 “So you see, The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouths of all your prophets. For The Lord has pronounced your doom.”
24 Then Zedekiah son of Kenaanah walked up to Micaiah and slapped him across the face. “Since when did The Spirit Of The Lord leave me to speak to you?” he demanded.
25 And Micaiah replied, “You will find out soon enough when you are trying to hide in some secret room!”
26 “Arrest him!” the king of Israel ordered. “Take him back to Amon, the governor of the city, and to my son Joash.
27 Give them this order from the king: ‘Put this man in prison, and feed him nothing but bread and water until I return safely from the battle!’”
28 But Micaiah replied, “If you return safely, it will mean that The Lord has not spoken through me!” Then he added to those standing around, “Everyone mark my words!”

(The Death of Ahab)

29 So King Ahab of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah led their armies against Ramoth-gilead.
30 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “As we go into battle, I will disguise myself so no one will recognize me, but you wear your royal robes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself, and they went into battle.
31 Meanwhile, the king of Aram had issued these orders to his thirty-two chariot commanders: “Attack only the king of Israel. Don’t bother with anyone else!”
32 So when the Aramean chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat in his royal robes, they went after him. “There is the king of Israel!” they shouted. But when Jehoshaphat called out,
33 the chariot commanders realized he was not the king of Israel, and they stopped chasing him.
34 An Aramean soldier, however, randomly shot an arrow at the Israelite troops and hit the king of Israel between the joints of his armor. “Turn the horses and get me out of here!” Ahab groaned to the driver of his chariot. “I’m badly wounded!”
35 The battle raged all that day, and the king remained propped up in his chariot facing the Arameans. The blood from his wound ran down to the floor of his chariot, and as evening arrived he died.
36 Just as the sun was setting, the cry ran through his troops: “We’re done for! Run for your lives!”
37 So the king died, and his body was taken to Samaria and buried there.
38 Then his chariot was washed beside the pool of Samaria, and dogs came and licked his blood at the place where the prostitutes bathed, just as The Lord had promised.

Isaiah 30:8-11 NLT (A Warning for Rebellious Judah)
8 Now go and write down these words. Write them in a book. They will stand until the end of time as a witness
9 that these people are stubborn rebels who refuse to pay attention to The Lord’s instructions.
10 They tell the seers, “Stop seeing visions!” They tell the prophets, “Don’t tell us what is right. Tell us nice things. Tell us lies.
11 Forget all this gloom. Get off your narrow path. Stop telling us about your ‘Holy One of Israel.’”

Jeremiah 32:1-5 NLT
1 The following message came to Jeremiah from The Lord in the tenth year of the reign of Zedekiah, king of Judah. This was also the eighteenth year of the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar.
2 Jerusalem was then under siege from the Babylonian army, and Jeremiah was imprisoned in the courtyard of the guard in the royal palace.
3 King Zedekiah had put him there, asking why he kept giving this prophecy: “This is what The Lord says: ‘I am about to hand this city over to the king of Babylon, and he will take it.
4 King Zedekiah will be captured by the Babylonians and taken to meet the king of Babylon face to face.
5 He will take Zedekiah to Babylon, and I will deal with him there,’ says The Lord. ‘If you fight against the Babylonians, you will never succeed.’”

Mark 7:2,8,13 KJV
2 And when they saw some of His disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
13 Making The Word Of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

II Peter 3:3-9 NLT
3 Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking The Truth and following their own desires.
4 They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”
5 They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by The Word Of His Command, and He brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water.
6 Then He used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood.
7 And by the same Word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.
8 But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to The Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.
9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

We Must Stand Firm In The Faith:

Proverbs 1:8,9 NLT
8 My child, listen when your father corrects you. Don’t neglect your mother’s instruction.
9 What you learn from them will crown you with grace and be a chain of honor around your neck.

I Corinthians 11:2 KJV
Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.

I Corinthians 16:13 NLT
Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.

II Timothy 1:13 NLT
Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you learned from me—a pattern shaped by the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus.

II Timothy 3:14 NLT
But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you.

Titus 1:9 NLT
He must have a strong belief in the trustworthy message he was taught; then he will be able to encourage others with wholesome teaching and show those who oppose it where they are wrong.

Hebrews 4:14 NLT
So then, since we have A Great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus The Son Of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.

Hebrews 10:23 NLT
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.

Judgment Day Coming:

Isaiah 5:20 KJV
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Romans 1:18 KJV
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold The Truth in unrighteousness;

I Timothy 1:3,4 NLT
3 When I left for Macedonia, I urged you to stay there in Ephesus and stop those whose teaching is contrary to The Truth.
4 Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God.

II Timothy 4:3,4 KJV
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from The Truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Prayer:

Ephesians 1:3,7 KJV
3 Blessed be The God And Father Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
7 In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Ephesians 1:13,14 KJV
13 And now you Gentiles have also heard The Truth, The Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, He identified you as His own by giving you The Holy Spirit, whom He promised long ago.

John 14:16,17 KJV
16 And I will pray The Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever;

14 He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall shew it unto you.

I John 4:6 KJV
We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we The Spirit Of Truth, and the spirit of error.

O God Of Truth

O God of Truth, whose living Word
upholds whate'er hath breath,
look down on thy creation, Lord,
enslaved by sin and death.

Set up thy standard, Lord, that we
who claim a heav'nly birth,
may march with thee to smite the lies
That vex thy groaning earth.

We fight for Truth? we fight for God?
Poor slaves of lies and sin!
They who would fight for thee on earth
must first be pure within.

Then, God Of Truth, for whom we long,
thou who wilt hear our prayer,
do thine own battle in our hearts,
and slay the falsehood there.

Yea, come: then tried as in the fire,
from ev'ry lie set free,
thy perfect Truth shall dwell in us,
and we shall live in thee.
