Bible Questions Answered:
“...I read John 4:22 and what is this meaning...?...”
Lwin/ Mitkyina, Burma

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

John 4:1-30 NLT (Jesus and the Samaritan Woman)
1 Jesus knew the Pharisees had heard that He was baptizing and making more disciples than John
2 (though Jesus Himself didn’t baptize them—His disciples did).
3 So He left Judea and returned to Galilee.

4 He had to go through Samaria on the way.
5 Eventually He came to the Samaritan village of Sychar, near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime.
7 Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give Me a drink.”
8 He was alone at the time because His disciples had gone into the village to buy some food.

9 The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?”

10 Jesus replied, “If you only knew The Gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask Me, and I would give you living water.”

11 “But sir, you don’t have a rope or a bucket,” she said, “and this well is very deep. Where would you get this living water?
12 And besides, do you think you’re greater than our ancestor Jacob, who gave us this well? How can you offer better water than he and his sons and his animals enjoyed?”

13 Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again.
14 But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

15 “Please, sir,” the woman said, “give me this water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again, and I won’t have to come here to get water.”

16 “Go and get your husband,” Jesus told her.

17 “I don’t have a husband,” the woman replied.

Jesus said, “You’re right! You don’t have a husband—
18 for you have had five husbands, and you aren’t even married to the man you’re living with now. You certainly spoke The Truth!”

19 “Sir,” the woman said, “you must be a prophet.
20 So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?”

21 Jesus replied, “Believe Me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship The Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem.

22 You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about Him, for salvation comes through the Jews.

John 4:22 KJV
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship The Father in Spirit and in Truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship Him that way.
24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in Truth.”

25 The woman said, “I know The Messiah is coming—The One who is called Christ. When He comes, He will explain everything to us.”

26 Then Jesus told her, “I am The Messiah!”

27 Just then His disciples came back. They were shocked to find Him talking to a woman, but none of them had the nerve to ask, “What do you want with her?” or “Why are you talking to her?”
28 The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone,
29 “Come and see A Man who told me everything I ever did! Could He possibly be The Messiah?”
30 So the people came streaming from the village to see Him.

The Woman At The Well:

John 4:20 KJV
Our fathers (Samaritans) worshipped in this mountain (Mount Gerizim-Deuteronomy 27:12); and ye (Jews) say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

Jesus responded:

John 4:22 NLT
You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about Him, for salvation comes through the Jews.

John 4:22 KJV
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

When saying this, Jesus was stating the fact that we all owe an immeasurable debt to Israel.
All knowledge of God and His blessings have come to us through the Jews.
The Bible you and I read has come down to us through the Jews. Our  blessed Savior, was Jewish.

Our responsibility is to pray for Jewish people, and their salvation, from around the world.

Psalm 122:6 KJV
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

As a nation, they have rejected The Savior, Messiah, and yet the Apostle tells us there is yet a remanent that receive Him.

True in Paul's day and ours as well!

Romans 11:1-8 NLT (God’s Mercy on Israel-Apostle Paul)
1 I ask, then, has God rejected His own people, the nation of Israel? Of course not! I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham and a member of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 No, God has not rejected His own people, whom He chose from the very beginning. Do you realize what The Scriptures say about this? Elijah the prophet complained to God about the people of Israel and said,
3 “Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.”
4 And do you remember God’s reply? He said, “No, I have 7,000 others who have never bowed down to Baal!”
5 It is the same today, for a few of the people of Israel have remained faithful because of God’s grace—His undeserved kindness in choosing them.
6 And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved.
7 So this is the situation: Most of the people of Israel have not found the favor of God they are looking for so earnestly. A few have—the ones God has chosen—but the hearts of the rest were hardened.
8 As The Scriptures say, “God has put them into a deep sleep. To this day He has shut their eyes so they do not see, and closed their ears so they do not hear.”

How long will this spiritual blindness last?.....

Romans 11:25 NLT (God’s Mercy Is for Everyone)
I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters, so that you will not feel proud about yourselves. Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ.

Romans 11:25 KJV
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

“The fulness of the Gentiles,” this is the completion of the church of Jesus Christ. At which point it is raptured out of this world to meet The Lord in the air.

Matthew 24:14 KJV
And this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Israel's Future:

Isaiah 27:6 NLT
The time is coming when Jacob’s descendants will take root. Israel will bud and blossom and fill the whole earth with fruit!

Jeremiah 31:31-34 NLT
31 “The day is coming,” says The Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah.
32 This covenant will not be like the one I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt. They broke that covenant, though I loved them as A Husband loves His wife,” says The Lord.

33 “But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel after those days,” says The Lord. “I will put My instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people.
34 And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their relatives, saying, ‘You should know The Lord.’ For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will know Me already,” says The Lord. “And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.”

Jeremiah 32:36-41 NLT A Promise of Restoration)
36 “Now I want to say something more about this city. You have been saying, ‘It will fall to the king of Babylon through war, famine, and disease.’ But this is what The Lord, The God Of Israel, says:
37 I will certainly bring My people back again from all the countries where I will scatter them in My fury. I will bring them back to this very city and let them live in peace and safety.
38 They will be My people, and I will be their God.
39 And I will give them one heart and one purpose: to worship Me forever, for their own good and for the good of all their descendants.
40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good for them. I will put a desire in their hearts to worship Me, and they will never leave Me.
41 I will find joy doing good for them and will faithfully and wholeheartedly replant them in this land.

Romans 11:25-36 NLT (God’s Mercy Is for Everyone)
25 I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters, so that you will not feel proud about yourselves. Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ.
26 And so all Israel will be saved. As The Scriptures say, “The One who rescues will come from Jerusalem, and He will turn Israel away from ungodliness.
27 And this is My covenant with them, that I will take away their sins.”
28 Many of the people of Israel are now enemies of The Good News, and this benefits you Gentiles. Yet they are still the people He loves because He chose their ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
29 For God’s gifts and His call can never be withdrawn.
30 Once, you Gentiles were rebels against God, but when the people of Israel rebelled against Him, God was merciful to you instead.
31 Now they are the rebels, and God’s mercy has come to you so that they, too, will share in God’s mercy.
32 For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so He could have mercy on everyone.
33 Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand His decisions and His ways!
34 For who can know The Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give Him advice?
35 And who has given Him so much that He needs to pay it back?
36 For everything comes from Him and exists by His power and is intended for His glory. All glory to Him forever! Amen.

Prayer:

John 4:22 NLT
You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about Him, for salvation comes through the Jews.

Bible Questions Answered:
“Pastor, I read Matthew 3:11, and I am asking what is this baptism of fire Jesus is talking about?..;.”
 Art/ Glendale, Arizona  U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

Matthew 3:11 KJV
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with The Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Luke 3:16 KJV
John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: He shall baptize you with The Holy Ghost and with fire:

Jesus said that He had come to set the earth on fire!

Luke 12:49 KJV
I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

Luke 12:49 NLT
“I have come to set the world on fire, and I wish it were already burning!

Luke 12:49 ERV
Jesus continued speaking: “I came to bring fire to the world. I wish it were already burning!

Luke 12:49 GNT
“I came to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already kindled!

Luke 12:49 YLT
'Fire I came to cast to the earth, and what will I if already it was kindled?

Jesus t old His followers....

Luke 24:49 KJV
And, behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with Power from on high.

Acts 2:1-4 NLT (The Holy Spirit Comes)
! On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place.
2 Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.
3 Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.
4 And everyone present was filled with The Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as The Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

It was the day of Pentecost, and the day of The Lord's promise fulfilled.

Luke 24:49 KJV
And, behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with Power from on high.

This was the baptism of The Holy Spirit. These worshiping disciples were both, baptized and endued with power by The Holy Spirit.

All Christians are baptized in The Holy Spirit.

“Is that right pastor, would you happen to have a scripture for that?”

I Corinthians 12:13 KJV (The Apostle Paul)
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

I Corinthians 12:13 NLT
Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.

Who has baptized us  in The Spirit?

Jesus The Baptizer:

Mark 1:8 KJV (John the baptist)
I indeed have baptized you with water: but He (Jesus) shall baptize you with The Holy Ghost.

John 1:32,33 KJV (Baptism of Jesus)
32 And John bare record, saying, I saw The Spirit descending from heaven like A Dove, and it abode upon Him.
33 And I knew Him not: but He that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see The Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, the same is He which baptizeth with The Holy Ghost.

The day of Pentecost, was both the day of the baptism of The Spirit, and enduement of His power.

Every Christian has been baptized in The Spirit, but only those whe press on in worship, and obedience receive The Holy Spirit's enduement of power.

Luke 24:49 KJV
And, behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with Power from on high.
The Apostle Paul, asks an all important question....

I Corinthians 12:29,30 NLT
29 Are we all apostles? Are we all prophets? Are we all teachers? Do we all have the power to do miracles?
30 Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown languages? Of course not!

Does this mean these Christians have “not,” been baptized in The Holy Spirit? No, for all Christians have been baptized in The Holy Spirit.

I Corinthians 12:13 KJV (The Apostle Paul)
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

It means, though baptized in The Spirit, they have not all pressed on for The Holy Spirit's enduement of power.  This is spiritual power of The Holy Spirit, for the work of evangelism.

I Corinthians 12:29,30 NLT (Signs of The Holy Spirit's enduement of power)
29 Are we all apostles? Are we all prophets? Are we all teachers? Do we all have the power to do miracles?
30 Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown languages?

When we became Christians, we were baptized in The Holy Spirit, by our Lord, but to have the enduement of power of The Holy Spirit, we as the early disciples, must press on in obedience and worship to receive His enduement of power.

Luke 24:49 KJV
And, behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with Power from on high.

Our world, is engulfed in fire today, and it is not earthly fire but the heavenly fire of God's Holy Spirit,

John 16:5-11 NLT (The Work of the Holy Spirit
5 “But now I am going away to The One who sent Me, and not one of you is asking where I am going.
6 Instead, you grieve because of what I’ve told you.
7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, The Advocate (The Holy Spirit) won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send Him to you.
8 And when He comes, He will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.
9 The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in Me.
10 Righteousness is available because I go to The Father, and you will see Me no more.
11 Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.

Prayer:
Ephesians 5:18 KJV
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with The Spirit;

Bible Lesson: Marks Of Godly Character Versus Marks Of Non-Christian Character: Joy Versus Sorrow.

Bible Texts:

Joy:

Isaiah 35:10 KJV
And the ransomed of The Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Philippians 3:3 KJV
For we are the circumcision, which worship God in The Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Sorrow:

Proverbs 14:13 KJV
Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

II Corinthians 7:10 KJV
For Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

The Word; Joy:

Psalm 16:11 KJV
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Psalm 27:6 KJV
"...therefore will I offer in His tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto The Lord.

Psalm 47:1 KJV
O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

Proverbs 10:28 NLT
The hopes of the Godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing.

Isaiah 9:3 NLT
You will enlarge the nation of Israel, and its people will rejoice. They will rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest

Isaiah 12:6 NLT
Let all the people of Jerusalem shout His praise with joy! For great is The Holy One Of Israel who lives among you.”

Isaiah 35:10 KJV
And the ransomed of The Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Luke 15:7 NLT
In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!

John 16:22 NLT
So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy.

Romans 14:17 KJV
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in The Holy Ghost.

Romans 15:13 NLT
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of The Holy Spirit.

Philippians 4:4 KJV
Rejoice in The Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

I Thessalonians 5:16-18 NLT
16 Always be joyful.
17 Never stop praying.
18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

James 1:2-4 NLT (Faith and Endurance)
2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.
3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

I Peter 1:8,9 NLT
8 You love Him even though you have never seen Him. Though you do not see Him now, you trust Him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.
9 The reward for trusting Him will be the salvation of your souls.

The Word; Sorrow:

Psalm 51:1-19 KJV (David's prayer of sorrow and repentance)
1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5 Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free Spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14 Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

Psalm 119:28 NLT
I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your Word.

Matthew 5:4 KJV
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Mark 16:16 KJV
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

John 3:36 KJV
He that believeth on The Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not The Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

II Corinthians 7:10 NLT
For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

II Peter 3:9 KJV
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

I John 1:8-10 KJV
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and The Truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is Faithful and Just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.

Revelation 21:4 KJV (One day in heaven, if we are obedient and faithful, there will be no more sorrow)

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Prayer:

Psalm 30:5,11,12 KJV
5 For His anger endureth but a moment; in His favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

Bible Questions Answered:
“...if “flesh and blood” cannot enter heaven, does Paul mean that in heaven we will not have physical bodies?...”
Audrey/ Ashburn, Virginia  U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

I Corinthians 15:50 KJV
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

 I Corinthians 15:50 `NLT
What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.

What the Apostle Paul is saying here  is that mortal, humanity, cannot enter heaven.
He doesn't say it, but it would probably mean death, as heaven being too great for flesh and blood to bear.

“Well then, we won't have bodies in heaven?”

No, not at all, we will have bodies, but they will be “Glorified Bodies,” as our Lord had, after having risen from the dead.

Luke 24:35-45 NLT (Jesus Appears to the Disciples)
35 Then the two from Emmaus told their story of how Jesus had appeared to them as they were walking along the road, and how they had recognized Him as He was breaking the bread.
36 And just as they were telling about it, Jesus Himself was suddenly standing there among them. “Peace be with you,” He said.
37 But the whole group was startled and frightened, thinking they were seeing a ghost!

38 “Why are you frightened?” He asked. “Why are your hearts filled with doubt?
39 Look at My hands. Look at My feet. You can see that it’s really Me. Touch Me and make sure that I am not a ghost, because ghosts don’t have bodies, as you see that I do.”
40 As He spoke, He showed them His hands and His feet.

41 Still they stood there in disbelief, filled with joy and wonder. Then He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
42 They gave Him a piece of broiled fish,
43 and He ate it as they watched.
44 Then He said, “When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about Me in The Law Of Moses and The Prophets and in The Psalms must be fulfilled.”
45 Then He opened their minds to understand The Scriptures.

Our Lord was in His, risen “Glorified Body.”

The Apostle Paul says that all Christian people, at the moment of resurrection are going to receive a “Glorified Body.”

I Corinthians 15:51-58 NLT
51 But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed!
52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.

53 For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.

54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
56 For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.

Paul says  the hour is coming when all Christian people, will have a new body, “transformed into bodies that will never die (vs 53)”

Just think, immortal, eternal, never getting sick or old, bodies that will be transformed into miraculous bodies, by The Lord.

57 “But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for The Lord, for you know that nothing you do for The Lord is ever useless.

Prayer:

Colossians 2:12 NLT
For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with Him you were raised to new life because you trusted The Mighty Power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.

Bible Lesson: Marks Of Godly Character Versus Marks Of Non-Christian Character:  Intuition Versus Stupidity.

Bible Texts:

 Intuition:

I Corinthians 11:13 NLT
Judge for yourselves. Is it right for a woman to pray to God in public without covering her head?

Stupidity:

Proverbs 6:6-9 NLT
6 Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise!
7 Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work,
8 they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.
9 But you, lazybones, how long will you sleep? When will you wake up?

The Word; Intuition:

Job 38:36-41 NLT
36 Who gives intuition to the heart and instinct to the mind?
37 Who is wise enough to count all the clouds? Who can tilt the water jars of heaven
38 when the parched ground is dry and the soil has hardened into clods?
39 “Can you stalk prey for a lioness and satisfy the young lions’ appetites
40 as they lie in their dens or crouch in the thicket?
41 Who provides food for the ravens when their young cry out to God and wander about in hunger?

Psalm 19:1-4 KJV
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handy work.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath He set a tabernacle for the sun,

Proverbs 2:6-15 NLT
6 For The Lord grants wisdom! From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
8 He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to Him.
9 Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.
11 Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.
12 Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.
13 These men turn from the right way to walk down dark paths.
14 They take pleasure in doing wrong, and they enjoy the twisted ways of evil.
15 Their actions are crooked, and their ways are wrong.

John 14:26 KJV
But The Comforter, which is The Holy Ghost, whom The Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:33 KJV
Howbeit when He, The Spirit Of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.

Romans 2:14,15 NLT
14 Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know His law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it.
15 They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.

Ephesians 3:14-21 KJV
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto The Father Of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to The Power that worketh in us,
21 Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

II Timothy 3:16 KJV
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Hebrews 4:12 KJV
For The Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

James 1:5 NLT
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

I John 5:13-21 NLT
13 I have written this to you who believe in the name of The Son Of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
14 And we are confident that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him.
15 And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for.
16 If you see a fellow believer sinning in a way that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life. But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it.
17 All wicked actions are sin, but not every sin leads to death.
18 We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them.
19 We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one.
20 And we know that The Son Of God has come, and He has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and He is eternal life.
21 Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts

The Word; Stupidity:

Psalm 1:1-6 KJV
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in The Law Of The Lord; and in His Law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For The Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Proverbs 12:1 NLT
To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction.

Proverbs 14:7-9,16-18 NLT
7 Stay away from fools, for you won’t find knowledge on their lips.
8 The prudent understand where they are going, but fools deceive themselves.
9 Fools make fun of guilt, but the Godly acknowledge it and seek reconciliation.
16 The wise are cautious and avoid danger; fools plunge ahead with reckless confidence.
17 Short-tempered people do foolish things, and schemers are hated.
18 Simpletons are clothed with foolishness, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

Proverbs 28:26 NLT
Those who trust their own insight are foolish, but anyone who walks in wisdom is safe.

Jeremiah 4:22 NLT
“My people are foolish and do not know Me,” says The Lord.“They are stupid children who have no understanding. They are clever enough at doing wrong, but they have no idea how to do right!”

Jeremiah 10:14,21 NLT
14 The whole human race is foolish and has no knowledge! The craftsmen are disgraced by the idols they make, for their carefully shaped works are a fraud. These idols have no breath or power.
21 The shepherds of My people have lost their senses. They no longer seek wisdom from The Lord. Therefore, they fail completely, and their flocks are scattered.

Romans 1:21-26 NLT
21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship Him as God or even give Him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.
22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.
23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.
24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies.
25 They traded The Truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of The Creator Himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.
26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires..."

I Corinthians 1:18 KJV
For the preaching of The Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

II Timothy 3:7 KJV
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of The Truth.

Prayer:

Ephesians 1:17 KJV
That The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, The Father Of Glory, may give unto you The Spirit Of Wisdom And Revelation in the knowledge of Him:

(Why was the word “substance,” used in the KJV Bible?)

It was more clearly understood in the day, but not not in ours.

Hebrews 11:1 KJV
Now faith is the substance* of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

*Substance-Greek: Hupostasis (Hoop-os'-tas-is_ Assurance, confidence, confident.
(Strong's Concordance-5287)

Substance:
[the] assurance
ὑπόστασις (hypostasis)
Noun - Nominative Feminine Singular
Strong's Greek 5287: From a compound of hupo and histemi; a setting under, i.e. concretely, essence, or abstractly, assurance.

Well than knowing this, let us read Hebrews 11:1 again!

Hebrews 11:1 KJV
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

This is exactly how all the translations above have translated it.

Is substance, some mysterious miraculous ingredient, we must look for to do the miraculous? No!

Prayer:

John 5:39 KJV
Search The Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.
