Bible Questions Answered:
“What
is the idea behind James 2:10?...”
Wendell/
Chicago, Illinois U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
James
2:10 KJV
For
whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he
is guilty of all.
The Rabbinical thought here is that one may not take up
some of The Law on one hand and discard the rest of The Law on the
other hand.
Today we call this “pick and choose, religion.”
Pick the parts you will uphold, and cast away the parts
you don't want to uphold.
The Law, to the Rabbis, was as a chain. And if someone
failed at one link of The Law, the wholeness of The Law was
undermined.
Now what of today? Our God requires perfect obedience,
not partial!
Matthew 7:21-27 NLT (True Disciples)
21
“Not everyone who calls out to Me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the
Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of My
Father in heaven will enter.
22
On judgment day many will say to Me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in
your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many
miracles in your name.’
23
But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from Me, you
who break God’s laws.’
(Religion with all it's pomp and ceremony, without a
personal relationship with The Lord Jesus Christ, is nothing but a
deception, leading to spiritual death.)
(Building on a Solid Foundation)
24
“Anyone who listens to My teaching and follows it is wise,
like a person who builds a house on solid Rock.
25
Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the
winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is
built on bed Rock.
26
But anyone who hears My teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish,
like a person who builds a house on sand.
27
When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house,
it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
The
Word:
Exodus
19:5 KJV
Now
therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant,
then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people: for
all the earth is Mine:
Deuteronomy
11:1 KJV
Therefore
thou shalt love The Lord thy God, and keep His charge, and His
statutes, and His judgments, and His commandments, always.
Luke
11:28 KJV
But
He said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear The Word Of God, and
keep it.
John
15:9,14 KJV
9
As The Father hath loved Me, so have I loved you: continue ye in My
love.
14
Ye are My friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
James
1:25 NLT
But
if you look carefully into The Perfect Law that sets you free, and if
you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will
bless you for doing it.
II
John 1:6 KJV
And
this is love, that we walk after His commandments. This is the
commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should
walk in it.
Revelation
14:12 NLT
This
means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently,
obeying His commands and maintaining their faith in Jesus.
Prayer:
Matthew

His
lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou
hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over
many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Bible Questions Answered:
“What
does it mean to be poor in spirit?...”
Jim/
Chicago, Illinois U. S. A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Matthew 5:3 KJV
Blessed
are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
To
be “poor in spirit” means
to be deficient or lacking. Not one of great strength, and wisdom,
much rather one who is dependent, humble and lowly.
II
Corinthians 12:9,10 KJV
(Apostle Paul)
9
And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength
is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather
glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in
necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for
when I am weak, then am I strong.
The
Word:
II
Samuel 22:28 KJV
And
the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the
haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
Psalm
34:6 KJV
This
poor man cried, and The Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his
troubles.
Psalm
40:17 KJV
But
I am poor and needy; yet The Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help
and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
Psalm
51:17 KJV
The
sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart,
O God, thou wilt not despise.
Psalm
69:32,33 NLT
32
The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek
God’s help be encouraged.
33
For The Lord hears the cries of the needy; He does not despise His
imprisoned people.
Psalm
72:12,13 KJV
12
For He shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him
that hath no helper.
13
He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the
needy.
Psalm
113:7,8 KJV
7
He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of
the dunghill;
8
That He may set him with princes, even with the princes of His
people.
Isaiah
57:15 KJV
For
thus saith The High And Lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose
name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that
is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the
humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Isaiah
66:1,2 KJV
1
Thus saith The Lord, The heaven is My throne, and the earth is My
footstool: where is the house that ye build unto Me? and where is the
place of My rest?
2
For all those things hath Mine hand made, and all those things have
been, saith The Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that
is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at My Word.
Matthew
5:1-3,5 KJV
1
And seeing the multitudes, He went up into a mountain: and when He
was set, His disciples came unto Him:
2
And He opened His mouth, and taught them, saying,
3
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew
11:29 KJV
Take
My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew
18:4 KJV
Whosoever
therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is
greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Luke
5:8 KJV
When
Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from
me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
Luke
6:20 KJV
And
He lifted up His eyes on His disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor:
for yours is the kingdom of God.
Luke 18:9-14 NLT (Parable of the Pharisee and Tax
Collector)
9
Then Jesus told this story to some who had great confidence in their
own righteousness and scorned everyone else:
10
“Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the
other was a despised tax collector.
11
The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: ‘I thank you,
God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers.
I’m certainly not like that tax collector!
12
I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’
13
“But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift
his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in
sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’
14
I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified
before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those
who humble themselves will be exalted.”
Romans
7:18 KJV
For
I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for
to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I
find not.
James
4:6 KJV
But
He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud,
but giveth grace unto the humble.
I
Peter 5:5 KJV
Likewise,
ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be
subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God
resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Prayer:
Revelation 3:17 KJV (The Message to the Church in
Laodicea)

thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of
nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and
poor, and blind, and naked:

Philippians 3:12-14 NLT (Pressing toward the
Goal)
12
I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or
that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess
that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.
13
No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on
this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies
ahead,
14
I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly
prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Vacillation:
Galatians

This
book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt
meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make

Psalm
1:1,2 KJV
1
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the
scornful.
2
But his delight is in The Law Of The Lord; and in His Law doth he
meditate day and night.
Acts
17:10,11 KJV
10
And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto
Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they
received The Word with all readiness of mind, and searched The
Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
I
Corinthians 9:24-27 NLT
24
Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person
gets the prize? So run to win!
25
All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a
prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.
26
So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing.
27
I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it
should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself
might be disqualified.

And
even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave
them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not

Romans
7:23-25 NLT
23
But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind.
This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.
24
Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life
that is dominated by sin and death?
25
Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it
is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my
sinful nature I am a slave to sin.
Romans
8:6-8 KJV
6
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is
life and peace.

to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Romans

But
put ye on The Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the

Corinthians 1:17-19 NLT
17
You may be asking why I changed my plan. Do you think I make my plans
carelessly? Do you think I am like people of the world who say “Yes”
when they really mean “No”?
18
As surely as God is faithful, our word to you does not waver between
“Yes” and “No.”
19
For Jesus Christ, The Son Of God, does not waver between “Yes”
and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to
you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” He always does what He says.

Corinthians 4:3,4 KJV
3
But if our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

“Jesus
said the pharisee was wrong, what did he do?...”
Shirley/
Tucson, Arizona U.S.A.
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Matthew
6:5 KJV
And
when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they
love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the
streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They
have their reward.
The Pharisees prayed on the streets and street corners
to be seen of men. Much like the street musician of today's larger
cities, who plays and takes in offerings for his efforts.
Devote worshipers no doubt contributed financially to
the Pharisees loud and long prayers.
Admiration:

This was not, the kind of followers Jesus wanted, for He
wishes worship from one's heart not the market-place.
Matthew 7:21-23 KJV (A church of ceremony and

Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is
in heaven (Acts 2:21 -A personal
relationship with Jesus Christ.)
22
Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied
in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name
done many wonderful works?
23
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart
from Me, ye that work iniquity.
When one's prayers and worship comes from forms and
ceremonies, one will need the audience of others.
Whereas when one prays in secret, from one's heart, we
know that God hears us.
Matthew
6:1-18 KJV
1
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them:
otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2
Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before
thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that
they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their
reward.
3
But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right
hand doeth:
4
That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in
secret Himself shall reward thee openly.
5
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for
they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of
the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you,
They have their reward.
6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou
hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy
Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Prayer:
Psalm
62:5--8 KJV
5
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.
6
He only is my Rock and my Salvation: He is my Defence; I shall not be
moved.
7
In God is my Salvation and my glory: The Rock of my strength, and my
Refuge, is in God.
8
Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him:
God is a Refuge for us. Selah.

1
The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your
relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will
show you.
2
I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you
famous, and you will be a blessing to others.
3
I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with

So Abram departed as The Lord had instructed, and Lot went with him.
Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for
they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for
they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are
persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of
heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall
revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil
against you falsely, for My sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad:
for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the
prophets which were before you.
Matthew 16:27 KJV
For the Son of Man shall come in the
glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every
man according to his works.
Matthew 25:45-47 KJV
45 Who then is a faithful and wise
servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give
them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his
lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he
shall make him ruler over all his goods.
Mark 9:41 KJV
For whosoever shall give you a cup
of water to drink in My name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I
say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that He
gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should
not perish, but have everlasting Life.
John 14:19-21 KJV
19 Yet a little while, and the world
seeth Me no more; but ye see Me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I
am in My Father, and ye in Me, and I in you.
21 He that hath My commandments, and
keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be
loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to
him.
I Corinthians
2:9 KJV
But as it is written, Eye hath not
seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the
things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.
Philippians 3:20,21/ 4:1 KJV
20 For our conversation is in
heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus
Christ:
21 Who shall change our vile body,
that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to
the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto
Himself.
Colossians 3:1-4 KJV
1 If ye then be risen with Christ,
seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right
hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things
above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is
hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life,
shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.
I Thessalonians 4:14-18 KJV
14 For if we believe that Jesus died
and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring
with Him.
15 For this we say unto you by the
word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming
of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep (have died in
Christ).
16 For the Lord Himself shall
descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and
remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet
the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another
with these words.
II Timothy 2:11-13 KJV
11 It is a faithful saying: For if
we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him:
12 If we suffer, we shall also reign
with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us:
13 If we believe not, yet He abideth
faithful: He cannot deny Himself.
II Timothy 4:8 KJV
Henceforth there is laid up for me a
crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, shall
give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that
love His appearing.
Hebrews 12:28 KJV
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom
which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God
acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
James 1:12 KJV
Blessed is the man that endureth
temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life,
which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.
I Peter 5:1-4 KJV
1 The elders which are among you I
exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of
Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
2 Feed the flock of God which is
among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but
willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God's
heritage, but being examples to the flock.
4 And when the Chief Shepherd shall
appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
I John 3:1-3 KJV
1 Behold, what manner of love the
Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of
God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of
God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that,
when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as
He is.
3 And every man that hath this hope
in him purifieth himself, even as He is pure.
II John 8 NLT
Watch out that you do not lose what
we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive
your full reward.
Revelation 2:7,10,11,17,26-29 KJV
7 He that hath an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that over cometh will
I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the
paradise of God.
10 Fear none of those things which
thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into
prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days:
be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
11 He that hath an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that over cometh shall
not be hurt of the second death.
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will
I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone,
and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he
that receiveth it.
26 And he that over cometh, and
keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the
nations:
27 And he shall rule them with a rod
of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers:
even as I received of My Father.
28 And I will give him the Morning
Star.
29 He that hath an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Revelation 3:5,12,21,22 KJV
5 He that over cometh, the same
shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name
out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My
Father, and before His angels.
12 Him that over cometh will I make
a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I
will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of
My God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from
My God: and I will write upon him My new name.
21 To him that over cometh will I
grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am
set down with My Father in His throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Revelation 7:13-17 KJV
13 And one of the elders answered,
saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and
whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou
knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great
tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the
blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the
throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that
sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more,
neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any
heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the
midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living
fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their
eyes.
Revelation 20:4 KJV
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon
them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them
that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God,
and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had
received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they
lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Revelation 21:6,7,10,24-27 KJV
6 And He said unto me, It is done. I
am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give unto him
that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that over cometh shall inherit
all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.
10 And He carried me away in the
spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city,
the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
24 And the nations of them which are
saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do
bring their glory and honor into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be
shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory
and honor of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter
into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh
abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the
Lamb's book of life.
Prayer:
John
14:1-6 KJV
1
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in
Me.
2
In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and
receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5
Thomas saith unto Him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how
can we know the way?
6
Jesus saith unto him, I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man
cometh unto The Father, but by Me.

Lesson: Marks Of Godly Character Versus Marks Of Non-Christian
Character: Compassion Versus Pitilessness.
Bible
Texts:
Compassion:
Luke 10:30-37 NLT (Parable of the Good Samaritan)
30
Jesus replied with a story: “A Jewish man was traveling from
Jerusalem down to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They
stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead
beside the road.
31
“By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying
there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by.
32
A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but he
also passed by on the other side.
33
“Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he
felt compassion for him.
34
Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil
and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and
took him to an inn, where he took care of him.
35
The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him,
‘Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I’ll
pay you the next time I’m here.’
36
“Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man
who was attacked by bandits?” Jesus asked.
37
The man replied, “The one who showed him mercy.”
Then
Jesus said, “Yes, now go and do the same.”

Matthew
9:35-38 KJV
35
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their
synagogues, and preaching The Gospel of the kingdom, and healing
every sickness and every disease among the people.
36
But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them,
because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no
shepherd.
37
Then saith He unto His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but
the laborers are few;
38
Pray ye therefore The Lord Of The Harvest, that He will send forth
laborers into His harvest.
Matthew
14:13-21 KJV
13
When Jesus heard of it (Beheading of John The Baptist), He departed
thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had
heard thereof, they followed Him on foot out of the cities.
14
And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with
compassion toward them, and He healed their sick.
15
And when it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, This is a
desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that
they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.
16
But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
17
And they say unto Him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
18
He said, Bring them hither to Me.
19
And He commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the
five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, He
blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to His disciples, and the
disciples to the multitude.
20
And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the
fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
21
And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women
and children.
Matthew
15:29-39 KJV
29
And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of
Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
30
And great multitudes came unto Him, having with them those that were
lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at
Jesus' feet; and He healed them:
31
Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to
speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to
see: and they glorified The God Of Israel.
32
Then Jesus called His disciples unto Him, and said, I have compassion
on the multitude, because they continue with Me now three days, and
have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they
faint in the way.
33
And His disciples say unto Him, Whence should we have so much bread
in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
34
And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said,
Seven, and a few little fishes
35
And He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
36
And He took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and
brake them, and gave to His disciples, and the disciples to the
multitude.
37
And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken
meat that was left seven baskets full.
38
And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and
children.
39
And He sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the
coasts of Magdala.
Matthew
20:29-34 KJV
29
And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed Him.
30
And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard
that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord,
thou Son Of David.
31
And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace:
but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son
Of David.
32
And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I
shall do unto you?
33
They say unto Him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
34
So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and
immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.
Mark
6:30-34 KJV
30
And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told
Him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
31
And He said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place,
and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had
no leisure so much as to eat.
32
And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
33
And the people saw them departing, and many knew Him, and ran afoot
thither out of all cities, and out went them, and came together unto
Him.
34
And Jesus, when He came out, saw much people, and was moved with
compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a
shepherd: and He began to teach them many things.
Luke
15:11-32 KJV
11
And He said, A certain man had two sons:
12
And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the
portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his
living.
13
And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and
took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance
with riotous living.
14
And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land;
and he began to be in want.
15
And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he
sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16
And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine
did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17
And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my
father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18
I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I
have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19
And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy
hired servants.
20
And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way
off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his
neck, and kissed him.
21
And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and
in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22
But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and
put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23
And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be
merry:
24
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is
found. And they began to be merry.
25
Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to
the house, he heard music and dancing.
26
And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
27
And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed
the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
28
And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out,
and entreated him.
29
And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve
thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet
thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
30
But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living
with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
31
And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have
is thine.
32
It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy
brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
Romans
9:15 NLT
For
God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I
will show compassion to anyone I choose.”
II Corinthians 1:3,4 CEB (God’s comfort in
trouble)
3
May the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ be blessed! He is The
Compassionate Father and God Of All comfort.
4
He’s the one who comforts us in all our trouble so that we can
comfort other people who are in every kind of trouble. We offer the
same comfort that we ourselves received from God.
Philippians
2:1-3 GNT
1
Your life in Christ makes you strong, and His love comforts you. You
have fellowship with The Spirit, and you have kindness and compassion
for one another.
2
I urge you, then, to make me completely happy by having the same
thoughts, sharing the same love, and being one in soul and mind.
3
Don't do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to
boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others
better than yourselves.
Colossians
3:12 GNT
You
are the people of God; He loved you and chose you for His own. So
then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility,
gentleness, and patience.
James
5:11 GNT
We
call them happy because they endured. You have heard of Job's
patience, and you know how The Lord provided for him in the end. For
The Lord is full of mercy and compassion.

But
in Mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together:
yea, the subjects gathered themselves together against Me, and I knew
it not; they did tear Me, and ceased not:
Psalm
69:21 KJV
They
gave Me also gall for My meat; and in My thirst they gave Me vinegar
to drink.
Proverbs

evil man seeketh only rebellion: therefore a cruel messenger shall be
sent against him.

attacking armies will shoot down the young men with arrows. They will
have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for
children.”
Matthew 18:21-35 NLT (Parable of the Unforgiving
Debtor)
21
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive
someone who sins against me? Seven times?”
22
“No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!
23
“Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who
decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had
borrowed money from him.
24
In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him
millions of dollars.
25
He couldn’t pay, so his master ordered that he be sold—along with
his wife, his children, and everything he owned—to pay the debt.
26
“But the man fell down before his master and begged him, ‘Please,
be patient with me, and I will pay it all.’
27
Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and
forgave his debt.
28
“But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who
owed him a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him by the throat and
demanded instant payment.
29
“His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little
more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he pleaded.
30
But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and put in
prison until the debt could be paid in full.
31
“When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset.
They went to the king and told him everything that had happened.
32
Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You evil
servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with
me.
33
Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had
mercy on you?’
34
Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he
had paid his entire debt.
35
“That’s what My heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to
forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart.”
Luke
10:30-32 KJV
30

Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment,
and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31
And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he
saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32
And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on
him, and passed by on the other side.
Prayer:
John
13:34,35 kJV

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I
have loved you, that ye also love one another.
