Bible Lesson: Messianic Prophecies, Fulfilled, In Jesus Christ. Jesus Was Buried In A Rich Mans Tomb.

Bible Text:

Prophecy:

Isaiah 53:9 KJV B.C. 712
And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; because He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth.

Fulfilled:

Matthew 27:57-60 KJV A.D. 33
57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:
58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded The Body to be delivered.
59 And when Joseph had taken The Body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher, and departed.

The Word:

Matthew 27:57-61 NLT (The Burial of Jesus)
57 As evening approached, Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea who had become a follower of Jesus,
58 went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ Body. And Pilate issued an order to release it to him.
59 Joseph took The Body and wrapped it in a long sheet of clean linen cloth.
60 He placed it in his own new tomb, which had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance and left.
61 Both Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting across from the tomb and watching.

Mark 15;42-47 NLT (The Burial of Jesus)
42 This all happened on Friday, the day of preparation, the day before the Sabbath. As evening approached,
43 Joseph of Arimathea took a risk and went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ Body. (Joseph was an honored member of the high council, and he was waiting for the Kingdom of God to come.)
44 Pilate couldn’t believe that Jesus was already dead, so he called for the Roman officer and asked if He had died yet.
45 The officer confirmed that Jesus was dead, so Pilate told Joseph he could have The Body.
46 Joseph bought a long sheet of linen cloth. Then he took Jesus’ Body down from the cross, wrapped it in the cloth, and laid it in a tomb that had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a stone in front of the entrance.
47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where Jesus’ body was laid.

Luke 23:50-56 KJV
50 And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counselor; and he was a good man, and a just:
51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
52 This man went unto Pilate, and begged The Body of Jesus.
53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulcher that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulcher, and how His body was laid.
56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

John 19:38-42 NLT (The Burial of Jesus)
38 Afterward Joseph of Arimathea, who had been a secret disciple of Jesus (because he feared the Jewish leaders), asked Pilate for permission to take down Jesus’ Body. When Pilate gave permission, Joseph came and took The Body away.
39 With him came Nicodemus, the man who had come to Jesus at night. He brought about seventy-five pounds of perfumed ointment made from myrrh and aloes.
40 Following Jewish burial custom, they wrapped Jesus’ Body with the spices in long sheets of linen cloth.
41 The place of crucifixion was near a garden, where there was a new tomb, never used before.
42 And so, because it was the day of preparation for the Jewish Passover and since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.

Christ Jesus lay in death's strong bands

Christ Jesus lay in death's strong bands,
for our offenses given;
but now at God's right hand He stands
and brings us life from heaven;
therefore let us joyful be
and sing to God right thankfully
loud songs of Hallelujah. Hallelujah!

It was a strange and dreadful strife
when life and death contended;
the victory remained with life,
the reign of death was ended;
Holy Scripture plainly saith
that death is swallowed up by death,
his sting is lost forever. Hallelujah!

Here the true Paschal Lamb we see,
whom God so freely gave us;
He died on the accursed tree--
so strong His love!-—to save us.
See, His Blood doth mark our door;
faith points to it, death passes o'er,
and Satan cannot harm us. Hallelujah!

So let us keep the festival
whereto The Lord invites us;
Christ is Himself the Joy of all,
The Sun that warms and lights us.
By His grace He doth impart
eternal sunshine to the heart;
the night of sin is ended. Hallelujah!

Then let us feast this joyful day
on Christ, The Bread Of Heaven;
The Word Of Grace hath purged away
the old and evil leaven.
Christ alone our souls will feed,
He is our meat and drink indeed;
faith lives upon no other. Hallelujah!

“I'm having a disagreement with a friend. God promises to give us whatever we want in Mark 11:23,24 and she says no it don't....”
Audrey/ Oklahoma City, Oklahoma U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

Mark 11:19-24 NLT
19 That evening Jesus and the disciples left the city.
20 The next morning as they passed by the fig tree He had cursed, the disciples noticed it had withered from the roots up.
21 Peter remembered what Jesus had said to the tree on the previous day and exclaimed, “Look, Rabbi! The fig tree you cursed has withered and died!”
22 Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God.
23 I tell you The Truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.
24 I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.

The Word:

Matthew 4:7 KJV
Jesus said unto him, It is written again..."

John 15:5-8 NLT
5 “Yes, I am The Vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.
6 Anyone who does not remain in Me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned.
7 But if you remain in Me and My Words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
8 When you produce much fruit, you are My true disciples. This brings great glory to My Father.

I John 5:14 KJV

You can't ask God, for everyone to be saved.
You can't ask God for unlimited wealth, because you like to shop.
You can't ask God for some sins to be OK.
Etc. etc. etc.

And then again, your best friend may be dying of cancer, and the doctors saying, “there is no hope.”
And yet God's Word tells us....

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Exodus 15:26 KJV
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of The Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am The Lord that healeth thee.

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Bible Questions Answered:

Why did Jesus say in Mark 2:5...thy sins be forgiven thee. ?...”
Becky/ Tucson, Arizona U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

Mark 2:1-12 KJV
1 And again He entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that He was in the house.
2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and He preached The Word unto them.
3 And they come unto Him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
4 And when they could not come nigh unto Him for the press, they uncovered the roof where He was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
6 But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
7 Why doth this Man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in His Spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, He said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10 But that ye may know that The Son Of Man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (He saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

Many scribes were present at this event.

Luke 5:17 KJV
And it came to pass on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judea, and Jerusalem: and the power of The Lord was present to heal them.

When the Jews heard Jesus say....

Mark 2:5 KJV
...Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.”

They knew well, that only God could forgive sin, and Jesus knew their thoughts.

Psalm 139:2 KJV
Thou knowest my down sitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

Mark 2:7 KJV
Why doth this Man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

The Word:

Psalm 32:5 KJV
I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto The Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Isaiah 43:25 KJV
I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Our Lord, was in effect telling them, I am God, and to prove it, I will heal this paralyzed man

Mark 2:10-12 KJV
10 But that ye may know that The Son Of Man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (He saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

And you and I as God's children have The Living Power Of God, at work in our lives!

II Chronicles 20:5,6 NLT
5 Jehoshaphat stood before the community of Judah and Jerusalem in front of the new courtyard at the Temple of The Lord.
6 He prayed, “O Lord, God of our ancestors, you alone are The God who is in heaven. You are Ruler Of All The Kingdoms Of The Earth. You are powerful and mighty; no one can stand against you!

Psalm 147:4,5 NLT
4 He counts the stars and calls them all by name.
5 How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!

Matthew 22:29 NLT
Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know The Scriptures, and you don’t know The Power Of God.

Romans 1:20 NLT
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

Ephesians 3:20 NLT
Now all glory to God, who is able, through His Mighty Power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

II Timothy 1:7 KJV
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of Power, Love, and Self-Discipline.

Hebrews 1:3 NLT
The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and He sustains everything by The Mighty Power of His command..."

II Peter 1:3 NLT
By His Divine Power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, The One who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.

Bible Lesson: Messianic Prophecies, Fulfilled, In Jesus Christ. Crucified, But No Broken Bones.

Bible Text:

Prophecy:

Psalm 34:20 KJV (In the time of King David-1085-1015 B.C.)
He keepeth all His bones: not one of them is broken.

Fulfilled:

John 19:33,36 KJV A.D. 33
33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that He was dead already, they brake not His legs:
36 For these things were done, that The Scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of Him shall not be broken.

The Word:

Exodus 12:46 KJV (The Passover Lamb)
In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.

Numbers 9:12 KJV
They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the pass over they shall keep it.

Psalm 22:16 KJV
For dogs have compassed Me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed Me: they pierced My hands and My feet.

Psalm 34:20 KJV
He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

Nailed to the Cross

There was One Who was willing to die in my stead,
That a soul so unworthy might live;
And the path to the cross He was willing to tread,
All the sins of my life to forgive.

Refrain:
They are nailed to the cross! They are nailed to the cross!
Oh, how much He was willing to bear!
With what anguish and loss Jesus went to the cross,
But He carried my sins with Him there.

He is tender and loving and patient with me,
While He cleanses my heart of the dross;
But “there’s no condemnation”—I know I am free,
For my sins are all nailed to the cross.

I will cling to my Savior and never depart,
I will joyfully journey each day,
With a song on my lips and a song in my heart,
That my sins have been taken away.

“...we are to find out the main points of Romans what would they be?...”
Casey/ Ashburn, Virginia U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

Romans:

(Confession)
Romans 1:16 KJV
For I am not ashamed of The Gospel Of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

(Good Works)
Romans 2:6,7 KJV
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:

(God is impartial)
Romans 2:11 KJV
For there is no respect of persons with God.

(Salvation)
Romans 3:23,24 KJV

24 Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

(Forgiveness)
Romans 4:7,8 KJV
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom The Lord will not impute sin.

(Propitiation- Sacrifice)
Romans 5:6 KJV
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

(Power of sin broken)
Romans 6:1,2,7 KJV
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

(Free Gift of eternal life)
Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but The Gift Of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

(Fighting against sin)
Romans 7:18-20 KJV
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

(Direction)
Romans 8:14 KJV
For as many as are led by The Spirit Of God, they are the sons of God.

(Future Glory)
Romans 8:18 KJV
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

(Kept by God)
Romans 8:31-39 KJV
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not His Own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at The Right Hand Of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(Intercession)
Romans 10:1 KJV
Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

(Impartiality)
Romans 10:12 KJV
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him.

(Glory of God)
Romans 11:33/12: KJV
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!

(Hypocrisy)
Romans 12:9,10 NLT
9 Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.

(Sphere of influence)
Romans 14:7 KJV
For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.

(Peace Makers)
Romans 14:19 KJV
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

(Faithfulness)
Romans 14:23 KJV
"...whatsoever is not of faith is sin."

(Burden Bearing)

We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach The Gospel Of Peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

I Peter 3:3-6 KJV
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

Revelation 21:2 NLT
And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her Husband.

Breathe on Me, Breath of God

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love what Thou dost love,
And do what Thou wouldst do.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Until my heart is pure,
Until with Thee I will one will,
To do and to endure.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Till I am wholly Thine,
Until this earthly part of me
Glows with Thy fire divine.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
So shall I never die,
But live with Thee the perfect life
Of Thine eternity.
