Bible Lesson: Conversations With
Jesus: Jesus, Claimed To Be The Messiah.
Bible Text:
John 5:17-47 KJV
17 But Jesus
answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
18 Therefore
the Jews sought the more to kill Him, because He not only had broken
the sabbath, but said also that God was His Father, making Himself
equal with God.
19 Then
answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He seeth The Father do:
for what things soever He doeth, these also doeth The Son likewise.
20 For The
Father loveth The Son, and sheweth Him all things that Himself doeth:
and He will shew Him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
21 For as The
Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so The Son
quickeneth whom He will.
22 For The
Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto The Son:
23 That all men
should honor The Son, even as they honor
The Father. He
that honoreth not The Son honoreth not The Father which hath sent
Him.
24 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him
that sent Me, hath everlasting Life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto Life.
25 Verily,
verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead
shall hear the voice of The Son Of God: and they that hear shall
live.
26 For as The
Father hath Life in Himself; so hath He given to The Son to have Life
in Himself;
27 And hath
given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is The Son
Of Man.
28 Marvel not
at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the
graves shall hear His voice,
29 And shall
come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of Life;
and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
30 I can of
Mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and My judgment is
just; because I seek not Mine own will, but the will of The Father
which hath sent Me.
31 If I bear
witness of Myself, My witness is not true.
32 There is
another that beareth witness of Me; and I know that the witness which
He witnesseth of Me is true.
33 Ye sent unto
John, and He bare witness unto The Truth.
34 But I
receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might
be saved.
35 He was a
burning and a shining Light: and ye were willing for a season to
rejoice in his Light.
36 But I have
greater witness than that of John: for the works which The Father
hath given Me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of
Me, that The Father hath sent Me.
37 And The
Father Himself, which hath sent Me, hath borne witness of Me. Ye have
neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His shape.
38 And ye have
not His Word abiding in you: for whom He hath sent, Him ye believe
not.
39 Search The
Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal Life: and they are
they which testify of Me.
40 And ye will
not come to Me, that ye might have Life.
41 I receive
not honor from men.
42 But I know
you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
43 I am come in
My Father's name, and ye receive Me not: if another shall come in his
own name, him ye will receive.
44 How can ye
believe, which receive honor one of another, and seek not the honor
that cometh from God only?
45 Do not think
that I will accuse you to The Father: there is one that accuseth you,
even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye
believed Moses, ye would have believed Me; for he wrote of Me.
47 But if ye
believe not his writings, how shall ye believe My Words?
Bible Topic: Messianic Claims Of
Christ:
Matthew 16:15-17 KJV
15 He saith
unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon
Peter answered and said, Thou art The Christ, The Son Of The Living
God.
17 And Jesus
answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for
flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but My Father which
is in heaven.
Matthew 20:28
KJV
Even as The Son
Of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give
His life a ransom for many.
Matthew
26:26-28,63-68 KJV
26 And as they
were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave
it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is My body.
27 And He took
the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all
of it;
28 For this is
My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the
remission of sins.
63 But Jesus
held His peace, And the high priest answered and said unto Him, I
adjure thee by The Living God, that thou tell us whether thou be The
Christ, The Son Of God.
64 Jesus saith
unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter
shall ye see The Son Of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and
coming in the clouds of heaven.
65 Then the
high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what
further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard His
blasphemy.
66 What think
ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
67 Then did
they spit in His face, and buffeted Him; and others smote Him with
the palms of their hands,
68 Saying,
Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?
Matthew 27:11
NLT
Now Jesus was
standing before Pilate, the Roman governor. “Are you The King Of
The Jews?” the governor asked Him.
Jesus replied,

Matthew 28:18-20
KJV

came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in
heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye
therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of The
Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching
them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo,
I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Mark 2:5-7 KJV
5 When Jesus
saw their faith, He said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be
forgiven thee.
6 But there was
certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
7 Why doth this
Man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
Mark 14:61,62
KJV
61 But He held
His peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, and
said unto Him, Art thou The Christ, The Son Of The Blessed?
62 And Jesus
said, I am: and ye shall see The Son Of Man sitting on the right hand
of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Luke 4:18-21 KJV
18 The Spirit
Of The Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the
gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the
blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach
the acceptable year of The Lord.
20 And He
closed The Book, and He gave it again to the minister, and sat down.
And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on
Him.
21 And He began
to say unto them, This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Luke 7:48,49 KJV
48 And He said
unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
49 And they
that sat at meat with Him began to say within themselves, Who is this
that forgiveth sins also?
Luke 24:45-51
KJV
45 Then opened
He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said
unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer,
and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that
repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among
all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are
witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold,
I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of
Jerusalem, until ye be endued with Power From On High.
50 And He led
them out as far as to Bethany, and He lifted up His hands, and
blessed them.

to pass, while He blessed them, He was parted from them, and carried
up into heaven.

said unto them, I am The Bread Of Life: he that cometh to Me shall
never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst.
40 And this is
the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth The Son, and
believeth on Him, may have everlasting Life: and I will raise him up
at the last day.
51 I am The
Living Bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this
bread, he shall live for ever: and The Bread that I will give is My
flesh, which I will give for the Life of the world.
John 8:36-37 KJV
36 Jesus
answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if My kingdom were of this
world, then would My servants fight, that I should not be delivered
to the Jews: but now is My kingdom not from hence.
37 Pilate
therefore said unto Him, Art thou a King then? Jesus answered, Thou
sayest that I am A King. To this end was I born, and for this cause
came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto The Truth.
Every one that is of The Truth heareth My voice.

I Jesus have
sent Mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I
am The Root And The Offspring Of David, and The Bright And Morning
Star.
Come,
Thou Almighty King
Come, Thou almighty King,
Help us Thy Name to sing, help us to praise!
Father all glorious, o’er all victorious,
Come and reign over us, Ancient of Days!
Jesus, our Lord, arise,
Scatter our enemies, and make them fall;
Let Thine almighty aid our sure defense be made,
Souls on Thee be stayed; Lord, hear our call.
Come, Thou incarnate Word,
Gird on Thy mighty sword, our prayer attend!
Come, and Thy people bless, and give Thy Word success,
Spirit of holiness, on us descend!
Come, holy Comforter,
Thy sacred witness bear in this glad hour;
Thou Who almighty art, now rule in every heart,
And ne’er from us depart, Spirit of pow’r!
To Thee, great One in Three,
Eternal praises be, hence, evermore;
Thy sov’reign majesty may we in glory see,
And to eternity love and adore!

beside Me there is no Savior.

am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and
will not remember thy sins.
