Bible Questions Answered:
“Why is there such hardship and suffering by so many today?...”
Qwen/ Newkirk, Oaklahoma  U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

Why All The Hardship And Suffering?

The Trial:

I Peter 1:3-7 KJV
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations (trials):
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

The Test:

John 16:33 KJV
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation*: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

*Tribulation-Greek-Thlipsis(Thlip-sis): Pressure, afflicted, anguish, burdened, persecution, tribulation, trouble. (Abingdon's Strong's concordance of the Bible.)

Now there are a host of teachers that say, “no way!” Jesus came to deliver us from all tribulation!
They of course are hard pressed to speak of the above verse.
Why do they preach such a gospel?

II Timothy 4:3 KJV
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

They do it, because it is the gospel, many want to hear!
They do it for filthy lucre!

The truth is as Jesus has said, “... In the world ye shall have tribulation...”
Here are just a few such verses...saying the same.

Deuteronomy 4:29-31 KJV
29 But if from thence thou shalt seek The LORD thy God, thou shalt find Him, if thou seek Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to The LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto His voice;
31 (For The LORD thy God is a merciful God;) He will not forsake thee..."

Psalm 34:19 KJV
Many are the afflictions of the righteous:
but The LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Isaiah 43:2,3 KJV
2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
3 For I am The LORD thy God..."

Isaiah 48:10,11 KJV
10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee
in the furnace of affliction.
11 For Mine own sake, even for Mine own sake, will I do it..."

Zechariah 13:9 KJV
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is My people: and they shall say, The Lord is My God.

Acts 5:40-42 KJV
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Acts 9:16 KJV (Concerning the Apostle Paul)
For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for My name's sake.

Acts 14:21,22 KJV
21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Romans 5:1-5 KJV
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by The Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Romans 8:16-18 KJV
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Philippians 1:29 KJV
For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for His sake;

Colossians 1:24 NLT (Apostle Paul)
I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for His body, the church.

I Thessalonians 3:4 KJV
For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

Hebrews 11:24,25 KJV
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

James 5:10,11 KJV
10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of The Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of The Lord; that The Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

I Peter 1:5-7 NLT
5 And through your faith, God is protecting you by His power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.
6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.
7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

I Peter 2:19-21 NLT
19 For God is pleased with you when you do what you know is right and patiently endure unfair treatment.
20 Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you.
21 For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in His steps.

I Peter 4:12-16 KJV
12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for The Spirit of Glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified.
15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

I Peter 5:10 KJV
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His Eternal Glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Revelation 2:8,9 KJV
8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the First and the Last, which was dead, and is alive;
9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty..."

Revelation 7:13,14 KJV
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in The Blood Of The Lamb.

Any Bible believing Christian should be well aware that God's rain falls on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45).

But our Lord has promised us, that when we go through the floods, and the fire, they will not overflow us, because He will be with us!

Exodus 33:14 KJV
And He said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Psalm 41:1-3 NLT
1 Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble.
2 The Lord protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies.
3 The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.

Hebrews 13:5 KJV
"... For He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

Matthew 5:10-12 KJV
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

II Timothy 2:12 KJV
If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, he also will deny us:

II Timothy 4:18 KJV
And The Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

I Peter 5:6,7 KJV
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

Prayer:

Revelation 21:3,4 KJV
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Bible Questions Answered:
“Why does the devil hate me, I can't understand that one....”
Fritz/ Chicago, Illinois  U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

God banished Lucifer (The devil), from heaven, he sinned and was no longer God's anointed Cherub.

Ezekiel 28:14,15 KJV
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Revelation 12:7-9 NLT
7 Then there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels.
8 And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven.
9 This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.

Lucifer hates God, and Lucifer hates you, the Apostle Peter tells us so!

I Peter 5:8 KJV
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

But, why does the devil hate us?

He sees and knows what we may not.

Genesis 1:27 KJV
So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

Every time the devil sees us, he feels as though, he is looking directly at God, for mankind was created “in the image of God”, and so the devil hates God, and us, as a member of humanity, God creation.

Is the devil, all powerful, no, he is a created being, created by our all powerful God.

I John 4:4 KJV
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

God's Greatness, The Word:

I Chronicles 16:25 KJV
For great is The Lord, and greatly to be praised: He also is to be feared above all gods.

I Chronicles 29:11 KJV
Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.

Psalm 108:4 KJV
For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds

Isaiah 12:6 KJV
Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is The Holy One Of Israel in the midst of thee.

Isaiah 40:26 KJV
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: He calleth them all by names by the greatness of His might, for that He is strong in power; not one faileth.

Isaiah 55:9 KJV
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Jeremiah 10:6 KJV
Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Lord; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.

Jeremiah 32:17 KJV
Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: =/

Luke 1:49 KJV
For He that is Mighty hath done to me great things; and Holy is His name.

Ephesians 2:4 KJV
But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us,

Ephesians 3:19,20 KJV
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power,
20 Which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places,

Prayer:

Psalm 47:2,7 KJV
2 For The Lord Most High is terrible; He is A Great King over all the earth.
7 For God is The King Of All The Earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

Bible Lesson: Marks Of Godly Character Versus Marks Of Non-Christian Character: Trust Versus Selfishness.

Bible Lesson: Marks Of Godly Character Versus Marks Of Non-Christian Character: Trust Versus Selfishness.

Bible Texts:

Trust:

Proverbs 28:25 NLT
Greed causes fighting; trusting The Lord leads to prosperity.

Selfishness:

I Corinthians 13:4,5 NLT
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud
5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.

The Word Concerning, Trust:

Matthew 6:34 KJV
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Matthew 6:34 NLT
So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

This verse is so easily understood in the New Living Translation.

This is all about the subject of worry versus trust.
As God's people, should we plan for tomorrow's needs? Yes, of course, but we are never to get to the place where we stop “trusting God,” and start to worry and become overly disturbed.

Philippians 4:6,7 KJV
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6,7 NLT
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.
7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

I Peter 5:7 KJV
Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

Who is caring, and interceding for you? The Lord Jesus Christ, that's who, He's not dead impaled on a cross, He's living and interceding for you at the right hand of The Father!

Romans 8:34 KJV
"...It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us."

As a child of God, we are to “trust,” our God to keep us.

Psalm 37:3-5 KJV
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in The LORD: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto The LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.

Proverbs 3:5,6 KJV
5 Trust in The LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Isaiah 26:3,4 KJV
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in The LORD for ever: for in The LORD Jehovah is everlasting strength:

Psalm 34:22 KJV
The Lord redeemeth the soul of His servants: and none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate.

Here are the words Jesus spoke before in Matthew chapter six.

Matthew 6:19-34 NLT
19 “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.
20 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.
21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
22 “Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light.
23 But when your eye is bad, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!
24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are?
27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing,
29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.
30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’
32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.
34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Psalm 112:5-7 KJV
5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in The Lord.

Psalm 121:1-3 KJV
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from The LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Isaiah 41:10 KJV
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.

The Word, Concerning Selfishness:

Selfishness:
Lacking consideration for others; concerned chiefly with one's own personal profit or pleasure.

Psalm 75:5-7 KJV
5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.
6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7 But God is The Judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another.

Isaiah 56:11 NCV (Evil Leaders of Israel.)
They are like hungry dogs that are never satisfied. They are like shepherds who don’t know what they are doing. They all have gone their own way; all they want to do is satisfy themselves.

Matthew 16;25 KJV
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it.

Mark 10:42-44 NLT
42 So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them.
43 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant,
44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else.
45 For even The Son Of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

Romans 15:1 KJV
We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

I Corinthians 10:24 KJV
Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.

II Corinthians 5:15 KJV
He died for everyone so that those who receive His new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

Philippians 2:3,4 NLT
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.
4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

James 2:8 NLT
Yes indeed, it is good when you obey the royal law as found in the Scriptures: “Love your neighbor as yourself.

II Peter 2:10 KJV
But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Christ our example:

Philippians 2:7,8 KJV
7 But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of A Servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Matthew 10:38 KJV
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me.

Matthew 16:24 KJV
Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

“Selfishness is that detestable vice which no one will forgive in others, and no one is without in himself”
Henry Ward Beecher

Psalm 139:23,24 KJV
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Prayer:

Psalm 118:8,9 KJV
8 It is better to trust in The Lord than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in The Lord than to put confidence in princes.

Bible Questions Answered:
“I do not believe my prayers do any good...”
Adit/  Bengaluru, Karnataka  India

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

If you are a Christian, better believe The Bible!  And if you are a Christian, better be living close to The Lord!

James 5:16 KJV
"... The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

James 5:16 NLT
"...The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."

James 5:16 ERV
"...Anyone who lives the way God wants can pray, and great things will happen."

Prayers Not Answered:

James 4:1-10 NLT (Drawing Close to God)
1 What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you?
2 You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.
3 And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.

4 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.
5 Do you think The Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that The Spirit He has placed within us should be faithful to Him.
6 And He gives grace generously. As The Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

9 Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy.
10 Humble yourselves before The Lord, and He will lift you up in honor.

Does God Answer Prayer?

Psalm 91:15 KJV
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.

Psalm 145:18 KJV
The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in Truth.

Psalm 165:2 KJV
O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

Zechariah 13:9 KJV
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is My people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

Matthew 7:7,8,11 KJV
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?

Matthew 21:22 KJV
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

John 14:13,14 KJV
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that The Father may be glorified in The Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in My name, I will do it.

John 15:7,16 KJV
7 If ye abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of The Father in My name, He may give it you.

John 16:24 KJV
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in My name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Romans 10:12 NLT
Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on Him.

Ephesians 3:20 KJV
Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

I John 5:14 KJV
And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us:

James 5:16 KJV

Bible Questions Answered:
“I work with a woman who says she's a Christian, but who comes in to work totally hung over. What should I say to her?...”
Shelly/  Los Angeles, California  U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

This is one of two possible cases....

Case 1:
She mistakenly thinks she is a Christian, because she was baptized as an infant, confirmed, or received membership in a church, but none of these things “Save,” that is done only in a personal relationship with The Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ.

John 3:1-21 KJV
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that thou art A Teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with Him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of The Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of The Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of The Spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto Him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even The Son Of Man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must The Son Of Man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of The Only Begotten Son Of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth The Light, neither cometh to The Light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to The Light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Matthew 7:21-23 KJV
21 Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.

Or
Case 2:

She at one time did become a Christian, and fell away from her faith, in which case she needs spiritual restoration.

Get to know your fellow worker, and you will discover which of the cases is her story. Until you know and fully understand, pray for her, God, hears and answers prayer!

Prayer:

Galatians 6:2 KJV
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill The Law Of Christ.

Bible Lesson: Marks Of Godly Character Versus Marks Of Non-Christian Character: Truth Versus Suspicion.

Bible Texts:

Truth:

Ephesians 6:4 NLT
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from The Lord.

Suspicion:

Song Of Solomon 8:6 KJV
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

The Word; Truth:

I Kings 17:24 KJV
And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that The Word Of The Lord in thy mouth is truth.

Psalm 25:5 KJV
Lead me in thy Truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my Salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Psalm 145:18 KJV
The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth.

John 1:14,17 KJV
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of The Only Begotten Of The Father,) full of grace and truth.
17 For The Law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

John 4:24 KJV
God is A Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

John 8:31,32 KJV
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in My Word, then are ye My disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know The Truth, and The Truth shall make you free.

John 14:6 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto The Father, but by Me.

John 16:13 KJV
Howbeit when He, The Spirit Of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.

John 17:17 KJV
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy Word is truth.

John 18:37,38 KJV
37 Pilate therefore said unto Him, Art thou A King then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am A King. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto The Truth. Every one that is of The Truth heareth My voice.
38 Pilate saith unto Him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in Him no fault at all.

I Corinthians 13:4-6 KJV
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud
5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever The Truth wins out.

Ephesians 1:13,14 NLT
13 And now you Gentiles have also heard The Truth, The Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, He identified you as His own by giving you The Holy Spirit, whom He promised long ago.
14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that He will give us the inheritance He promised and that He has purchased us to be His own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify Him.

Ephesians 6:14 KJV
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

James 1:18 KJV
Of His own will begat He us with The Word Of Truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

I John 1:8 KJV
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and The Truth is not in us.

I John 3:18 KJV
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

I John 4:6 KJV
We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

The Word; Suspicion.

Numbers 5:15,18, 25,29,30 NLT
15 the husband must bring his wife to the priest. He must also bring an offering of two quarts of barley flour to be presented on her behalf. Do not mix it with olive oil or frankincense, for it is a jealousy offering—an offering to prove whether or not she is guilty.

18 When the priest has presented the woman before The Lord, he must unbind her hair and place in her hands the offering of proof—the jealousy offering to determine whether her husband’s suspicions are justified. The priest will stand before her, holding the jar of bitter water that brings a curse to those who are guilty.

25 “The priest will take the jealousy offering from the woman’s hand, lift it up before The Lord, and carry it to the altar.

29 “This is the ritual law for dealing with suspicion. If a woman goes astray and defiles herself while under her husband’s authority,
30 or if a man becomes jealous and is suspicious that his wife has been unfaithful, the husband must present his wife before The Lord, and the priest will apply this entire ritual law to her.

I Samuel 18:9 NLT
So from that time on Saul kept a jealous eye on David.

Job 26:9 NLT
Stop assuming my guilt, .for I have done no wrong.

II Corinthians 8:21 KJV
Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of The Lord, but also in the sight of men.

Prayer:

II Timothy 2:15 KJV
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing The Word of Truth.

Bible Questions Answered:
“I am sick and tired of how the name of Jesus is used as slang or a curse word, on tv.  What can we do  to stop this?...”
Randy/   Bowie, Texas  U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

The steps to take are....

One: Write down the name of  the Sponsors of the program they put up the money, for the program to exist.
Sponsors, do want to hear from the public, and if you and your  group write respectful and clear just what the problem is, you will hear from them, and more than likely with an apology.

Two: Write the local Television Station, and or T.V. Network (ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX/etc) that aired the offending program, and send them the same information.

For example:
“Dear friends, for many years we  have listened to your station … … … … and we appreciate your news and weather forecasts. The other night we were listening to the new popular show “.......”  and time after time the name of our Lord was used in jest.  We would like to see this stop, the name so randomly used as slang, is the name of  the God we love and serve. Thank you for helping us in this matter, and to take  into  consideration any and all new programs you choose for your station in  the future.”

Three: At the end of all programs are lists of ….

Program Hosts/ Program Actors.
Producers (Those who pay to put the program on.)
Writers: If  there are any followed scripts or agendas.
Directors: Program directors.

All these may be written, use the internet as your source, as to how.

Four: In your local news paper write a brief editorial as to why you as a Christian, are not watching the new T.V. Program “........”

Many times anti-Christian words or phrases are used without caution, and the reason, NO ONE OBJECTS!

If we complain that T.V.   Has become a garbage pit of filth and we as Christians do nothing about it, we too are to blame.

Prayer:

II Peter 3:11-13 NLT
11 Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and Godly lives you should live,
12 looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, He will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames.
13 But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth He has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.

Bible Questions Answered:
“Here is my question, is social drinking ok? A person is not drinking to get drunk, just to be sociable?...”
 Harold/ Camano, Washington  U.S.A.

Bible Answer:

Bible Texts:

How many a drunkard started out thinking that way, or driver who maybe had just one too many and caused an accident where others were killed, etc. etc. etc.

Here is what The Bible says...

I Corinthians 10:31 KJV
So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Question: Can a Christian ever say, “I am drinking this alcoholic beverage ….for the glory of God.”
Answer: Absolutely not!

Then if that is the case, a Christian should have nothing to do with it.

The Word Of God, Concerning: Alcohol:

Leviticus 10:8-10/ Numbers 6:1-4 KJV
8 And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying,
9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

Isaiah 5:11 KJV
Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!

Isaiah 28:7 KJV
But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

Proverbs 20:1 KJV
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

Proverbs 23:20,21,29-35 KJV
20 Be not among wine bibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:
21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his color in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
33 Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
34 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.
35 They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

Habakkuk 2:15 KJV
15 “What sorrow awaits you who make your neighbors drunk! You force your cup on them so you can gloat over their shameful nakedness.
16 But soon it will be your turn to be disgraced. Come, drink and be exposed! Drink from the cup of the Lord’s judgment, and all your glory will be turned to shame.

Luke 1:13-15 KJV
13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

Luke 21:34 KJV
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Romans 13:13,14 NLT
13 Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy.
14 Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.

I Corinthians 5:11 KJV
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

I Corinthians 6:9,10 NLT
9 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,
10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

I Corinthians 9:25-27 KJV
25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Galatians 5:19-21 KJV
19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,
21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Ephesians 5:18 KJV
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

I Thessalonians 5:7,8 KJV
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

Titus 1:7,8 KJV
7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

And  the truth is, that....

Romans 14:7 KJV
For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.

Everything we do, influences others one way or another.

II Corinthians  6:14-18 KJV
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of The Living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith The Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be A Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith The Lord Almighty.

Prayer:

I Thessalonians 5:22 KJV
Abstain from all appearance of evil.

I Thessalonians 5:22 NLT
Stay away from every kind of evil.

Bible Lesson: Marks Of Godly Character Versus Marks Of Non-Christian Character: Thrift Versus Extravagance:

Bible Texts:

The Word; Thrift:

Proverbs 10:14 KJV
Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

Proverbs 11:24 KJV
There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

Proverbs 13:22 KJV
A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

Proverbs 29:3 KJV
Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

Proverbs 30:25 KJV
The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;

Proverbs 31:13-16 KJV
13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Matthew 6:19-21 KJV
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Luke 12:22-31 KJV
22 And He said unto His disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will He clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

John 6:12,13 KJV
12 When they were filled, He said unto His disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

I Corinthians 16:2 KJV
Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

Ephesians 4:28 NLT
If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.

Ephesians 5:15,16 KJV
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

I Timothy 6:17-19 NLT
1 Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.
18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others.
19 By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

The Word;   Extravagance:

Proverbs 3:27,28 KJV
27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
28 Say not unto thy neighbor, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Proverbs 6:6-8 KJV
6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

Proverbs 10:5,14 KJV
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

Proverbs 11:24 KJV
There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

Proverbs 12:27 NLT
Lazy people don’t even cook the game they catch, but the diligent make use of everything they find.

Proverbs 21:17 KJV
He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

Proverbs 23:6-8,20,21 NLT
6 Don’t eat with people who are stingy; don’t desire their delicacies.
7 They are always thinking about how much it costs.“Eat and drink,” they say, but they don’t mean it.
8 You will throw up what little you’ve eaten, and your compliments will be wasted.
20 Do not carouse with drunkards or feast with gluttons,
21 for they are on their way to poverty, and too much sleep clothes them in rags.

Proverbs 28:22 NLT
Greedy people try to get rich quick but don’t realize they’re headed for poverty.

Proverbs 29:3 KJV
Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

Micah 6:14 NLT
You will eat but never have enough. Your hunger pangs and emptiness will remain. And though you try to save your money it will come to nothing in the end. You will save a little, but I will give it to those who conquer you.

Matthew 26:8,9 KJV
8 But when His disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

Luke 12:113-21 KJV (Parable of the Rich Fool)
13 Then someone called from the crowd, “Teacher, please tell my brother to divide our father’s estate with me.”
14 Jesus replied, “Friend, who made me a judge over you to decide such things as that?”
15 Then He said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”
16 Then He told them a story: “A rich man had a fertile farm that produced fine crops.
17 He said to himself, ‘What should I do? I don’t have room for all my crops.’
18 Then he said, ‘I know! I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I’ll have room enough to store all my wheat and other goods.
19 And I’ll sit back and say to myself, “My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!”’
20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’
21 “Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”

Luke 15:13 KJV
And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

Luke 16:1,2 NLT
16 Jesus told this story to His disciples: “There was a certain rich man who had a manager handling his affairs. One day a report came that the manager was wasting his employer’s money.
2 So the employer called him in and said, ‘What’s this I hear about you? Get your report in order, because you are going to be fired.’

John 12:4-6 KJV
4 Then saith one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray Him,
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

Romans 2:5,6,7-10 NLT
5 But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.
6 He will judge everyone according to what they have done.
7 He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.
8 But He will pour out His anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey The Truth and instead live lives of wickedness.
9 There will be trouble and calamity for everyone who keeps on doing what is evil—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.
10 But there will be glory and honor and peace from God for all who do good—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.

II Corinthians 9:6 KJV
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Prayer:

II Corinthians 9:6 KJV
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
