Bible Questions
Answered:
“...when
will our bodies be taken up to heaven?...”

Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
The Apostle Paul, admonished believers not to grieve, because of the
hope of resurrection.
I Thessalonians 4:13-17 KJV
13
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them
which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no
hope.
14
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also
which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.
15
For this we say unto you by The Word Of The Lord, that we which are
alive and remain unto the coming of The Lord shall not prevent them
which are asleep. (will not meet Him ahead of those who
have died. NLT).
16
For The Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first:
17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up*
together with them in the clouds, to meet
The
Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with The Lord.
Caught Up-Latin: Snatch, Seize, (where we derive our word,
rapture- Greek: Harpazo).
I
Corinthians 15:20-23 KJV
20
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become
The
First fruits of them that slept.
21
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the
dead.
22
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23
But every man in his own order: Christ The First fruits; afterward
they that are Christ's at His coming.
I
Corinthians 15:51-58 KJV
51
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall
all be changed,
52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the
trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and
we shall be changed.
53
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must
put on immortality.
54
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this
mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass
the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O
death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord
Jesus Christ.
58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always
abounding in the work of
The
Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in The
Lord.
The Apostle Paul, give us the order of events:
(Rapture:)
I
Thessalonians 4:16 KJV
16
For The Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
(Righteous
Dead In Heaven:)
16
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
(These individuals are already with The Lord.
II
Corinthians 5:8 KJV
We
are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the
body, and to be present with The Lord.
(The
Church, Body Of Living Believers On Earth:)
17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught
up together with them in the clouds, to meet
The
Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with The Lord.
When do we, living Christians, receive a new glorified body, as our
Lord's? We receive it at the rapture, after the believers with The
Lord, have received theirs, first.
(Caught
Up:)
17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet
The
Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with The Lord.
18
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
The Apostle Paul, ends by saying...
I
Thessalonians 4:18 KJV
Wherefore
comfort one another with these words.
I
Peter 1:3 KJV
Blessed
be The God And Father Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to
His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope
by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
(Our
Lord's Glorified Body:)
Luke
24:36-43,50,51 KJV
36
And as they thus spake, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and
saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37
But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed that they had
seen a spirit.
38
And He said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise
in your hearts?
39
Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself: handle Me, and see;
for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see Me have.
40
And when He had thus spoken, He shewed them His hands and His feet.
41
And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, He said unto
them, Have ye here any meat?
42
And they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43
And He took it, and did eat before them.
50
And He led them out as far as to Bethany, and He lifted up His hands,
and blessed them.
51
And it came to pass, while He blessed them, He was parted from them,
and carried up into heaven.
(Christian's
Glorified Body:)
I
Corinthians 15:50-53 NLT
50
What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical
bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot
inherit what will last forever.
51
But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but
we will all be transformed!
52
It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last
trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died
will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be
transformed.
53
For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never
die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.
One
Day!
One day when Heaven was filled with His praises,
One day when sin was as black as could be,
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin,
Dwelt among men, my example is He!
Refrain:
Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
Buried, He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely forever;
One day He’s coming—oh, glorious day!
One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain,
One day they nailed Him to die on the tree;
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected:
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He!
One day they left Him alone in the garden,
One day He rested, from suffering free;
Angels came down o’er His tomb to keep vigil;
Hope of the hopeless, my Savior is He!
One day the grave could conceal Him no longer,
One day the stone rolled away from the door;
Then He arose, over death He had conquered;
Now is ascended, my Lord evermore!
One day the trumpet will sound for His coming,
One day the skies with His glories will shine;
Wonderful day, my beloved ones bringing;
Glorious Savior, this Jesus is mine!

Prayer:
John
11:25,26 KJV
25
Jesus said unto her (Martha),
I am The Resurrection, And The Life: he that believeth in Me, though
he were dead, yet shall he live:
26
And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest
thou this?
Hebrews
9:28 KJV
So
Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that
look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto
salvation.
