none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall

Scriptures
For Those Who Are Tested And Tried:
Genesis 22:1-19
NLT (Abraham’s Faith Tested)
1 Some time later, God tested
Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called. “Yes,” he replied.
“Here I am.”
2 “Take your son, your only
son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of
Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the
mountains, which I will show you.”
3 The next morning Abraham got up
early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him,
along with his son, Isaac. Then he chopped wood for a fire for a
burnt offering and set out for the place God had told him about.
4 On the third day of their journey,
Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
5 “Stay here with the donkey,”
Abraham told the servants. “The boy and I will travel a little
farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.”
6 So Abraham placed the wood for the
burnt offering on Isaac’s shoulders, while he himself carried the
fire and the knife. As the two of them walked on together,
7 Isaac turned to Abraham and said,
“Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “We have the fire
and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the
burnt offering?”
8 “God will provide a sheep for
the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked
on together.
9 When they arrived at the place
where God had told him to go, Abraham built an altar and arranged the
wood on it. Then he tied his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar on
top of the wood.
10 And Abraham picked up the knife
to kill his son as a sacrifice.
11 At that moment the angel of The
Lord called to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Yes,”
Abraham replied. “Here I am!”
12 “Don’t lay a hand on the
boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know
that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from Me even your son,
your only son.”
13 Then Abraham looked up and saw a
ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and
sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son.
14 Abraham named the place
Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). To this day,
people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of The
Lord it will be provided.”
15 Then the angel of The Lord called
again to Abraham from heaven.
16 “This is what The Lord says:
Because you have obeyed Me and have not withheld even your son, your
only son, I swear by My own name that
17 I will certainly bless you. I
will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the
sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the
cities of their enemies.
18 And through your descendants all
the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have
obeyed Me.”
19 Then they returned to the
servants and traveled back to Beersheba, where Abraham continued to
live.
Deuteronomy 8:2
KJV
And thou shalt remember all the way
which The Lord Thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness,
to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart,
whether thou wouldest keep His commandments, or no.
II Chronicles
32:31 NLT
However, when ambassadors arrived
from Babylon to ask about the remarkable events that had taken place
in the land, God withdrew from Hezekiah in order to test him and to
see what was really in his heart.
Job 1:6-22 NLT
(Job’s First Test)
6 One day the members of the
heavenly court came to present themselves before The Lord, and the
Accuser, Satan, came with them.
7 “Where have you come from?”
The Lord asked Satan. Satan answered
The Lord, “I have been patrolling
the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”
8 Then The Lord asked Satan, “Have
you noticed My servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He
is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays
away from evil.”
9 Satan replied to The Lord, “Yes,
but Job has good reason to fear God.
10 You have always put a wall of
protection around him and his home and his property. You have made
him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is!
11 But reach out and take away
everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!”
12 “All right, you may test him,”
The Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he
possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left The
Lord’s presence.
13 One day when Job’s sons and
daughters were feasting at the oldest brother’s house,
14 a messenger arrived at Job’s
home with this news: “Your oxen were plowing, with the donkeys
feeding beside them,
15 when the Sabeans raided us. They
stole all the animals and killed all the farmhands. I am the only one
who escaped to tell you.”
16 While he was still speaking,
another messenger arrived with this news: “The fire of God has
fallen from heaven and burned up your sheep and all the shepherds. I
am the only one who escaped to tell you.”
17 While he was still speaking, a
third messenger arrived with this news: “Three bands of Chaldean
raiders have stolen your camels and killed your servants. I am the
only one who escaped to tell you.”
18 While he was still speaking,
another messenger arrived with this news: “Your sons and daughters
were feasting in their oldest brother’s home.
19 Suddenly, a powerful wind swept
in from the wilderness and hit the house on all sides. The house
collapsed, and all your children are dead. I am the only one who
escaped to tell you.”
20 Job stood up and tore his robe in
grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship.
21 He said, “I came naked from my
mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me
what I had, and The Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of The
Lord!”
22 In all of this, Job did not sin
by blaming God.
Job 2:1-10 NLT
(Job’s Second Test)
1 One day the members of the
heavenly court came again to present themselves before The Lord, and
the Accuser, Satan, came with them.
2 “Where have you come from?”
The Lord asked Satan. Satan answered
The Lord, “I have been patrolling
the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”
3 Then The Lord asked Satan, “Have
you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He
is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays
away from evil. And he has maintained his integrity, even though you
urged me to harm him without cause.”
4 Satan replied to The Lord, “Skin
for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life.
5 But reach out and take away his
health, and he will surely curse you to your face!”
6 “All right, do with him as you
please,” The Lord said to Satan. “But spare his life.”
7 So Satan left The Lord’s
presence, and he struck Job with terrible boils from head to foot.
8 Job scraped his skin with a piece
of broken pottery as he sat among the ashes.
9 His wife said to him, “Are you
still trying to maintain your integrity? Curse God and die.”
10 But Job replied, “You talk like
a foolish woman. Should we accept only good things from the hand of
God and never anything bad?” So in all this, Job said nothing
wrong.

Zechariah 13:9
KJV
And I will bring the third part
through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will
try them as gold is tried: they shall call on My name, and I will
hear them: I will say, It is My people: and they shall say, The Lord
is my God.
Matthew 16:27
KJV
For The Son Of Man shall come in the
glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every
man according to his works.
Luke 4:1-13 KJV
1 And Jesus being full of The Holy
Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by The Spirit into the
wilderness,
2 Being forty days tempted of the
devil. And in those days He did eat nothing: and when they were
ended, He afterward hungered.
3 And the devil said unto Him, If
thou be The Son Of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It
is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word
Of God.
5 And the devil, taking Him up into
an high mountain, shewed unto Him all the kingdoms of the world in a
moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto Him, All
this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is
delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me,
all shall be thine.
8 And Jesus answered and said unto
him, Get thee behind Me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship
The Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.
9 And he brought Him to Jerusalem,
and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto Him, If thou
be The Son Of God, cast thyself down from hence:
10 For it is written, He shall give
His angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11 And in their hands they shall
bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12 And Jesus answering said unto
him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt
The Lord Thy God.
13 And when the devil had ended all
the temptation, he departed from Him for a season.
Acts 14:21,22
NLT
21 After preaching the Good News in
Derbe and making many disciples, Paul and Barnabas returned to
Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch of Pisidia,
22 where they strengthened the
believers. They encouraged them to continue in the faith, reminding
them that we must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God.
Romans 2:6,7 KJV
6 Who will render to every man
according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance
in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:
Romans 5:3,4 KJV
3 And not only so, but we glory in
tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and
experience, hope:
Romans 8:17 KJV
And if children, then heirs; heirs
of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with
Him, that we may be also glorified together.
I Corinthians
2:1-5 KJV
1 And I, brethren, when I came to
you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto
you the testimony of God.
2 For I determined not to know any
thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness,
and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 And my speech and my preaching was
not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of The
Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand
in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
I Corinthians
10:13 NLT
The temptations in your life are no
different from what others experience. And God is Faithful. He will
not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are
tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.
II Corinthians
5:7 KJV
(For we walk by faith, not by
sight:)
II Corinthians
8:1,2 NLT
1 Now I want you to know, dear
brothers and sisters, what God in His kindness has done through the
churches in Macedonia.
2 They are being tested by many
troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with
abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity.
II Corinthians
12:7-9 KJV
7 And lest I should be exalted above
measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to
me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I
should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought The Lord
thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And He said unto me, My grace is
sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the
power of Christ may rest upon me.
II Corinthians
13:5 KJV
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in
the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how
that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Galatians 6:9
KJV
And let us not be weary in well
doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Philippians
2:5-11 KJV
5 Let this mind be in you, which was
also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God,
thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made Himself of no reputation,
and took upon Him the form of
A Servant, and was made in the
likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as A
Man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the
death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly
exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every
knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things
under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God The Father.
Philippians
4:6,7 NLT
6 Don’t worry about anything;
instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him
for all He has done.
7 Then you will experience God’s
peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard
your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
I Thessalonians
2:4 KJV
But as we were allowed of God to be
put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men,
but God, which trieth our hearts.
II Thessalonians
1:4,5 KJV
4 So that we ourselves glory in you
in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your
persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
5 Which is a manifest token of the
righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the
kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
II Timothy 3:12
KJV
Yea, and all that will live Godly in
Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Hebrews 2:18 KJV
For in that He Himself hath suffered
being tempted, He is able to succor (help) them that are tempted.
Hebrews 4:14-16
NLT
14 So then, since we have A Great
High Priest who has entered heaven,
Jesus The Son Of God, let us hold
firmly to what we believe.
15 This High Priest of ours
understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we
do, yet He did not sin.
16 So let us come boldly to the
throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we
will find grace to help us when we need it most.
Hebrews 12:4-11
KJV
4 Ye have not yet resisted unto
blood, striving against sin.
5 And ye have forgotten the
exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise
not thou the chastening of The Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked
of Him:
6 For whom The Lord loveth He
chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God
dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father
chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement,
whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of
our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we
not much rather be in subjection unto
The Father Of Spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days
chastened us after their own pleasure; but He for our profit, that we
might be partakers of His holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present
seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it
yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are
exercised thereby.
James
1:2-4.12-16 NLT
2 Dear brothers and sisters, when
troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for
great joy.
3 For you know that when your faith
is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
4 So let it grow, for when your
endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete,
needing nothing.
12 God blesses those who patiently
endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive The Crown
Of Life that God has promised to those who love Him.
13 And remember, when you are being
tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted
to do wrong, and He never tempts anyone else.
14 Temptation comes from our own
desires, which entice us and drag us away. 15 These desires give
birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives
birth to death.
16 So don’t be misled, my dear
brothers and sisters.
I Peter 4:12-19
KJV
12 Beloved, think it not strange
concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some
strange thing happened unto you:
13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are
partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when His glory shall be
revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
14 If ye be reproached for the name
of Christ, happy are ye; for
The Spirit Of Glory And Of God
resteth upon you: on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your
part He is glorified.
15 But let none of you suffer as a
murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other
men's matters.
16 Yet if any man suffer as a
Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this
behalf.
17 For the time is come that
judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us,
what shall the end be of them that obey not
The Gospel Of God?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be
saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19 Wherefore let them that suffer
according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him
in well doing, as unto a Faithful Creator.
I Peter 5:6-11
KJV
6 Humble yourselves therefore under
the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon Him;
for He careth for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because
your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking
whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith,
knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren
that are in the world.
10 But The God Of All Grace, who
hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye
have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen,
settle you.
11 To Him be glory and dominion for
ever and ever. Amen.
II Peter 2:9 NLT
So you see, The Lord knows how to
rescue Godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked
under punishment until the day of final judgment
I John 3:18-20
NLT
18 Dear children, let’s not merely
say that we love each other; let us show The Truth by our actions.
19 Our actions will show that we
belong to The Truth, so we will be confident when we stand before
God.
20 Even if we feel guilty, God is
greater than our feelings, and He knows everything.
Revelation 2:10
KJV
Fear none of those things which thou
shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison,
that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou
faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of Life.
Revelation 3:10
KJV (Philadelphia)
Because thou hast kept The Word of
My patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which
shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Hold
The Fort
Ho, my comrades,
see the signal, waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now
appearing, victory is nigh.
Chorus:
“Hold the fort,
for I am coming,” Jesus signals still;
Wave the answer
back to Heaven, “By Thy grace we will.”
See the mighty host
advancing, Satan leading on;
Mighty ones around
us falling, courage almost gone!
See the glorious
banner waving! Hear the trumpet blow!
In our Leader’s
Name we triumph over every foe.
Fierce and long the
battle rages, but our help is near;
Onward comes our
great Commander, cheer, my comrades, cheer!

Prayer:
5 And through your faith, God is
protecting you by His power until you receive this salvation,
which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.
6 So be truly glad. There is
wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a
little while.
7 These trials will show that your
faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies
gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when
your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much
praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed
to the whole world.
