*Propitiation-Greek: Hilasterion (Hil-as-tay-ree-on): An
expiatory (place or thing): An atoning victim, or (spec.) the lid of
the Ark (in the temple): mercyseat, propitiation. (Where the blood
of the spotless lamb was applied for the sins of the people. Hebrew

He is the propitiation* for our sins: and not for ours only, but also

Debtors'
Prison:
A debtors' prison was a prison for people who are unable to pay their
debt.
Our Lord alluded to such a prison in His parable of (The Unforgiving
Debtor - Matthew 18:21-35)

should pay all that was due unto him.
Question:
How
could a debtor ever pay off the debt he owed in prison?
Answer:
Never, he was doomed.
Humanity fell under the curse of sin, and judgment.
