The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Unpardonable Sin
Bible Questions Answered:
“...my friend says
she is worried because she thinks she has sins that cannot be
forgiven....”
Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
Mark 3:20-30 KJV
20 And the
multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as
eat bread.
21 And when his
friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said,
He is beside himself.
Psalm
69:8,9 KJV
8
I am become a stranger unto My brethren, and
an
alien unto My mother's children.
9
For the zeal of thine house hath eaten Me up;
and
the reproaches of them that reproached thee
are
fallen upon Me.
22 And the scribes which came down
from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the
devils casteth He out devils.
23 And He called them unto Him, and
said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom be divided
against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house be divided against
itself, that house cannot stand.
26 And if Satan rise up against
himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
27 No man can enter into a strong
man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the
strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
28 Verily I say unto you, All sins
shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith
soever they shall blaspheme:
29 But he that shall blaspheme
against The Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of
eternal damnation.
30 Because they said, He hath an
unclean spirit.
Our Lord, plainly
tells us here that there is but one “unpardonable sin,” and that
is
when one reviles, rejects, vilifies, defames and, slanders God's Holy Spirit, in an
determined and abusive manner.
Homily:
Often a ship with
passengers, comes across a situation, where for whatever reason,
someone has fallen overboard, and whose life is in peril.
Quickly a life
preserver is thrown overboard, hoping the lost one will grab on to it
and be pulled to the place of security.
What a picture it
would be, if such a one would indeed catch the preserver, but then,
just when he is being pulled to the boat, gets out a knife, and
begins to cut the cord that is pulling him to safety.
Would a person do
that, only if he had a death wish.
But that is exactly
what someone is doing that reviles God The Holy Spirit!
The Holy Spirit is
the one who calls a person to repentance, He convicts of sin.
John 16:7-8 NLT
7 But in fact, it is best for you
that I go away, because if I don’t, The Advocate (God
The Holy Spirit) won’t come. If I do go away, then I will
send Him to you.
8 And when He comes, He will convict
the world of its sin..."
When a person
reviles, God's Spirit, The Word Of God, the call to repentance, The
Savior, he is cutting the life line of The Holy Spirit, to his life.
Why is rejecting
The Lord, or the work of His Holy Spirit, a unforgivable sin? It is
unforgivable, because how can a person be saved, if his will is to
constantly deny and reject, The Lord and His Spirit?
How can a person be
saved if he constantly refuses a life line to safety, answer, he
cannot be saved.
It is the person,
himself, that makes it an unforgivable sin.
All those In hell,
have committed the unpardonable sin, that is, they have literally
demanded to go there. No, it has never been Gods choice for them, but
a decision, they have decided themselves, and thus their eternal
anguish.
II Peter 3:9 KJV
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The person who has
relentlessly cut cord after cord in The Holy Spirit's life line to
The Savior, and salvation, till it is no more, will have no desire to
be saved, for The Spirit Of God can no longer call him.
If a person on the
other hand is worried that they might have rejected The Lord one too
many times, there is yet hope. For to be worried over salvation is to
have yet the conviction of The Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 3:15 KJV
While it is said, To day if ye will
hear His voice, harden not your hearts..."
Genesis 6:3 KJV
And The Lord said, My Spirit shall
not always strive with man..."
Acts 2:21 KJV
And it shall come to pass, that
whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Dear friend, if
this story has been about you, do not delay to call upon The Lord in
repentance and faith, asking Him, to be your Savior and Lord.
John 6:37 KJV
All that The Father giveth Me shall
come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.
