Bible Lesson: Titles Of The Church.
Church Title: Assembly Of The
Saints.
Bible Text:
Psalm 89:7 KJV
God is greatly to be feared in
the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all
them that are about Him.
I Corinthians
1:2 KJV
Unto the church of God which is at
Corinth, to them that are sanctified* in Christ Jesus, called
to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of
Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
"Sanctified*
in Christ Jesus," Believers have separated themselves from the
evil of their day, through the power of the gospel, by which they had
received redemption through the blood of Christ, the forgiveness of
their sins.
*Sanctified-Greek:
Hagiazo (Hag-ee-ad-zo): To purify or to consecrate.
And so they were
consecrated to The Lord Jesus, and chosen as saints.
Romans 6:1-7 KJV
1 What shall we say then? Shall we
continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are
dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as
were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we are buried with Him
by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the
dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in
newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted
together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the
likeness of His resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is
crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that
henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from
sin.
Ephesians
5:25-27 KJV
25 "...Christ ...loved the
church, and gave Himself for it;
26 That He might sanctify and
cleanse it with the washing of water by The Word,
27 That He might present it to
Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such
thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Galatians
3:26,27 KJV
26 For ye are all the children of
God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been
baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
