Bible Lesson: Scriptures For
Special Occasions: When Troubles Come, One After Another.
Bible Text:
Job 5:1-27 KJV
1 Call now, if
there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt
thou turn?
2 For wrath
killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
3 I have seen
the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
4 His children
are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is
there any to deliver them.
5 Whose harvest
the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the
robber swalloweth up their substance.
6 Although
affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring
out of the ground;
7 Yet man is
born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
8 I would seek
unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:
9 Which doeth
great things and unsearchable; marvelous things without number:
10 Who giveth
rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:
11 To set up on
high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to
safety.
12 He
disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot
perform their enterprise.
13 He taketh
the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is
carried headlong.
14 They meet
with darkness in the day time, and grope in the noonday as in the
night.
15 But he
saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand
of the mighty.
16 So the poor
hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
17 Behold,
happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the
chastening of the Almighty:
18 For He
maketh sore, and bindeth up: He woundeth, and His hands make whole.
19 He shall
deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch
thee.
20 In famine He
shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
21 Thou shalt
be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid
of destruction when it cometh.
22 At
destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid
of the beasts of the earth.
23 For thou
shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of
the field shall be at peace with thee.
24 And thou
shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt
visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
25 Thou shalt
know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the
grass of the earth.
26 Thou shalt
come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in
his season.
27 Lo this, we
have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
Psalm 126:1-6 KJV
1 When The Lord
turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
2 Then was our
mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said
they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.
3 The Lord hath
done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
4 Turn again
our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.
5 They that sow
in tears shall reap in joy.
6 He that goeth
forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again
with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Isaiah 46:1-13 KJV
1 Bel boweth
down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the
cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the
weary beast.
2 They stoop,
they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but
themselves are gone into captivity.
3 Hearken unto
Me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel,
which are borne by Me from the belly, which are carried from the
womb:
4 And even to
your old age I am He; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have
made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
5 To whom will
ye liken Me, and make Me equal, and compare Me, that we may be like?
6 They lavish
gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a
goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship.
7 They bear him
upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he
standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto
him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
8 Remember
this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye
transgressors.
9 Remember the
former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God,
and there is none like Me,
10 Declaring
the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that
are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all
My pleasure:
11 Calling a
ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth My counsel from a
far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I
have purposed it, I will also do it.
12 Hearken unto
Me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:
13
I bring near My righteousness; it shall not be far off, and My
salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for
Israel My glory.
Troubles:
Job 14:1 KJV
Man that is born of a woman is of
few days, and full of trouble.
Psalm 20:1 KJV
The Lord hear thee in the day of
trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
Psalm 27:5 KJV
For in the time of trouble He shall
hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He
hide me; He shall set me upon A Rock.
Psalm 34:6,17
KJV
6 This poor man cried, and The Lord
heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
17 The righteous cry, and The Lord
heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
Psalm 46:1,7 KJV
1 God is our refuge and strength, a
very present help in trouble.
7 The Lord Of Hosts is with us; The
God Of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Psalm 50:15 KJV
And call upon Me in the day of
trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me.
Psalm 77:1,2 KJV
1 I cried unto God with my voice,
even unto God with my voice; and He gave ear unto me.
2 In the day of my trouble I sought
The Lord..."
Psalm 107:6 KJV
Then they cried unto The Lord in
their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.
Proverbs 11:8
KJV
The righteous is delivered out of
trouble..."
Proverbs 12:13
KJV
"...The just shall come out of
trouble."
Nahum 1:7 KJV
The Lord is good, a strong hold in
the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him.
II Thessalonians
1:7,12 KJV
7 And to you who are troubled rest
with us, when The Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His
mighty angels,
12 That the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in Him, according to the grace
of our God and The Lord Jesus Christ.
I Peter 3:14,15
KJV
14 But and if ye suffer for
righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror,
neither be troubled:
15 But sanctify The Lord God in your
hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that
asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and
fear:
Prayer:
John 14:1,27 KJV
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye
believe in God, believe also in Me.
27 Peace I leave with you, My peace
I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not
your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
II Corinthians
4:8-18 KJV
8 We are troubled on every side, yet
not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast
down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body
the dying of The Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be
made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are always
delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus
might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death worketh in us, but
life in you.
13 We having the same spirit of
faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I
spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14 Knowing that He which raised up
The Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us
with you.
15 For all things are for your
sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many
redound to the glory of God.
16 for which cause we faint not, but
though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by
day.
17 For our light affliction, which
is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal
weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things
which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things
which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are
eternal.
