there be sleep in heaven?...”

Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
The God who called
for the Sabbath, also called for the sun to go down that there would
be a lesser light for night, for rest at the end of the day.
Leviticus 23:3
Six days shall
work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy
convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the
Lord in all your dwellings.
Genesis 1:16 KJV
And God made two great lights; the
greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the
night: He made the stars also.
Will
we sleep in heaven? No one knows for sure.
But we do know the habits of eating and sleeping, etc. are not in
themselves, sinful.
Jesus said...
Luke 14:15 KJV
And when one of
them that sat at meat with Him heard these things, He said unto him,
Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
After His resurrection, in His glorified body, ...
Luke 24:40-45
KJV
40 And when He
had thus spoken, He shewed them His hands and His feet.
41 And while
they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, He said unto them, Have
ye here any meat?
42 And they
gave Him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And He
took it, and did eat before them.
God
is the God of rest:
Deuteronomy
12:10
But when ye go
over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the Lord your God giveth you
to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies
round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
Psalm 95:11 KJV
Unto whom I
swore in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest.
Job 3:17 KJV
There the
wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.
Matthew 11:28,29
KJV
28 Come unto
Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest.
29 Take My yoke
upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and
ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Hebrews 4:9-11
NLT
9 So there is a
special rest still waiting for the people of God.
10 For all who
have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors,
just as God did after creating the world.
11 So let us do
our best to enter that rest..."
Revelation 14:13
KJV
And I heard a
voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which
die in The Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith The Spirit, that they may
rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.
One day we will have a body, that doesn't grow weary or tired. Will
this body need to have food,
apparently not, and yet Jesus ate with His men after His
resurrection. If eating is an earthly custom, that can be continued
in the glorified body, why not rest, a gift of God.
II Corinthians 15:35-58 NLT (The Resurrection Body)
35 But someone
may ask, “How will the dead be raised? What kind of bodies will
they have?”
36 What a
foolish question! When you put a seed into the ground, it doesn’t
grow into a plant unless it dies first.
37 And what you
put in the ground is not the plant that will grow, but only a bare
seed of wheat or whatever you are planting.
38 Then God
gives it the new body He wants it to have. A different plant grows
from each kind of seed.
39 Similarly
there are different kinds of flesh—one kind for humans, another for
animals, another for birds, and another for fish.
40 There are
also bodies in the heavens and bodies on the earth. The glory of the
heavenly bodies is different from the glory of the earthly bodies.
41 The sun has
one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind.
And even the stars differ from each other in their glory.
42 It is the
same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are
planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live
forever.
43 Our bodies
are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are
buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength.
44 They are
buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual
bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also
spiritual bodies.
45 The
Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.”
But
The Last
Adam—that is, Christ—is A Life-Giving Spirit.
46 What comes
first is the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later.
47 Adam, the
first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, The
Second Man, came from heaven.
48 Earthly
people are like the earthly man, and heavenly people are like the
heavenly man.
49 Just as we
are now like the earthly man, we will someday be like the heavenly
man.
50 What I am
saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot
inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what
will last forever.
51 But let me
reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will
all be transformed!
52 It will
happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is
blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be
raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be
transformed.
53 For our
dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our
mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.
54 Then, when
our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never
die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in
victory.
55 O death,
where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
56 For sin is
the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.
57 But thank
God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus
Christ.
58 So, my dear
brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work
enthusiastically for
The Lord, for
you know that nothing you do for The Lord is ever useless.
Fatigue:
weariness from bodily or mental exertion.
Dictionary.Com
Think of spending a day in heaven, with all it sights and wonders,
all overwhelming. Would a time of rest be in order, for the
mind, if not needed for the body?
Matthew 11:28
KJV
“...I will give you rest.”
Isaiah 57:21 KJV
There is no
peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
One thing we do know for sure...
Psalm 121:2,3
NLT
2 My help comes
from The Lord, who made heaven and earth!
3 He will not
let you stumble; The One who watches over you will not slumber.
Prayer:
John 1;12,13 KJV
12 But as many as received Him, to
them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that
believe on His name:
13 Which were born, not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
