Bible Texts:

Luke 9:18 KJV
And it came to pass, as He was alone praying, His disciples were with Him: and He asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?

Luke 9:28,29 KJV
28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, He took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
29 And as He prayed, the fashion of His countenance was altered, and His raiment was white and glistering (glistening).

John 11:41,42 KJV (Reference Psalm 123:1,2)
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up His eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard Me.
42 And I knew that thou hearest Me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent Me.

Psalm 123:1,2 NLT
1 I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in heaven.
2 We keep looking to The Lord our God for His mercy, just as servants keep their eyes on their master..."

Jesus Christ, Was A Man Of Prayer!

(Morning Prayer:)
Mark 1:35 KJV
And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, He went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

(Evening Prayer:)
Matthew 14:23 KJV
And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, He was there alone.

Mark 6:46,47 KJV
46 And when He had sent them away, He departed into a mountain to pray.
47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and He alone on the land.

(Solitary Prayers:)
Luke 5:15,16 KJV
15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of Him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.
16 And He withdrew Himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

(Through The Night, Prayer:)
Luke 6:12 KJV
And it came to pass in those days, that He went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

(In The Garden Of Gethsemane:)
Luke 22:41,42 KJV
41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from Me: nevertheless not My will, but thine, be done.

Why did Jesus pray so much?
He did because, He loved His Father so very much, and always longed to be in His presence.

I John 4:16 KJV
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

He did because,
He wished always to be in His Father's will.

Matthew 3:17 KJV
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Matthew 17:5 KJV
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold A Voice out of the cloud, which said, This is My Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him.

If our life is prayer less, it is because our love has grown cold, our longing to be in His will, set aside by the things of this world.

I John 2:15-17 KJV
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of The Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of The Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

I Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
Pray without ceasing.

And why should we? Because our Living God, hears all prayers!

Job 34:28 KJV
"...He heareth the cry of the afflicted.

Psalm 4:3 KJV
But know that The Lord hath set apart him that is Godly for himself: The Lord will hear when I call unto Him.

Psalm 18:6 KJV
In my distress I called upon The Lord, and cried unto my God: He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him, even into His ears.

Psalm 34:17,18 KJV
17 The righteous cry, and The Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Proverbs 15:29 KJV
The Lord is far from the wicked: but He heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Micah 7:7 KJV
Therefore I will look unto The Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

Zechariah 10:6 KJV
"...for I am The Lord their God, and will hear them.
