Bible Lesson: Prayers Of Jesus: We Need Times Of Solitary Prayer With Our Heavenly Father.
Bible Lesson: Prayers Of Jesus: We
Need Times Of Solitary Prayer With Our Heavenly Father.
Location: Wilderness Of
Chorazin.
Lesson: If
We Draw Near To God, He Will Draw Near To Us (James 4:8).
Bible Text:
Matthew 6:5-8 NLT
5 “When you pray, don’t be
like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners
and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you The
Truth, that is all the reward they will ever get.
6 But when you pray, go away by
yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in
private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
7 “When you pray, don’t
babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think
their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and
again.
8 Don’t be like them, for
your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask Him!
Luke 5:16 KJV
And He withdrew Himself into the
wilderness, and prayed.
If there is one
thing the evil one never wishes to see in your life or mine, it is
time spent in quiet prayer to God, for there his beguiling voice is
silenced!
“Pastor, is this
time for telling God all the things we need?”
No.
Matthew 6:8 KJV
“... your
Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask Him!”
“Well, what
then?”
It should be a
time of praise and thanksgiving!
Actually, if God
never did a thing for us, He would deserve all praise and
thanksgiving, for who He is!
But, He has blessed
us beyond measure….
Psalm 68:19 KJV
Blessed be The Lord, who daily
loadeth us with benefits, even The God Of Our Salvation. Selah.
Every day should be
“spiritual,” Thanksgiving, for the Christian!
I Chronicles
16:8 KJV
Give thanks unto The Lord, call upon
His name, make known His deeds among the people.
Psalm 50:14 KJV
Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay
thy vows unto The Most High:
Psalm 92:1 KJV
It is a good thing to give thanks
unto The Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:
Ephesians 5:20
KJV
Giving thanks always for all things
unto God and The Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Philippians 4:6
NLT
Don’t worry about anything;
instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him
for all He has done.
Colossians 3:17
KJV
And whatsoever ye do in word or
deed, do all in the name of The Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and
The Father by Him.
I Thessalonians
5:16-18 KJV
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for
this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
The child of God,
is to be “out of the closet,” when it comes to witnessing
of faith!
And, the child of
God is to be “in the closet,” when it comes to thanksgiving
and praise to The Living God!
Isaiah 40:31 KJV
But they that wait upon The Lord
shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
King Solomon, a man
blessed with great wisdom, once said...
Proverbs 13:20
NLT
Walk with the wise and become wise;
associate with fools and get in trouble.
The Truth is we
become like those we choose to associate with!
If we spend
faithful time with The Lord we will be...
II Corinthians
3:18 KJV
“...changed into the same image
from glory to glory, even as by The Spirit Of The Lord.
I John 3:2 KJV
"... we shall
be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.
