Bible Questions Answered:
“My father whos passed, used to use the words the lamb of god or da lamb of god, where did this come from?...”
Sammoh/ Johannesburg, Eastern Cape/ South Africa

Bible Answer:
Bible Text:

John 1:29 KJV
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold The Lamb Of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 1:36 KJV
And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold The Lamb Of God!

I Peter 1:18,19 KJV
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot:

Old Negro Spirituals, called on Da Lamb Of God, or The Lamb Of God, and John the Baptist, and Peter, spoke of The Lord Jesus Christ, God's Eternal Son, as The Sacrificial Lamb Of God.

Romans 8:3 NLT
The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent His own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

The Lamb Of God:

Isaiah 53:7 KJV
He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a Lamb to the slaughter, and as a Sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth.

I Corinthians 5:7 NLT
"...Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.

Revelation 5:1-14 NLT
1 Then I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who was sitting on the throne. There was writing on the inside and the outside of the scroll, and it was sealed with seven seals.
2 And I saw a strong angel, who shouted with a loud voice: “Who is worthy to break the seals on this scroll and open it?”
3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll and read it.
4 Then I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll and read it.
5 But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, “Stop weeping! Look, The Lion Of The Tribe Of Judah, The Heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
6 Then I saw a Lamb that looked as if it had been slaughtered, but it was now standing between the throne and the four living beings and among the twenty-four elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the sevenfold Spirit Of God that is sent out into every part of the earth.
7 He stepped forward and took the scroll from the right hand of the one sitting on the throne.
8 And when He took the scroll, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down before
The Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they held gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.
9 And they sang a new song with these words:
You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it.
For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 And you have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God. And they will reign on the earth.”
11 Then I looked again, and I heard the voices of thousands and millions of angels around the throne and of the living beings and the elders.
12 And they sang in a mighty chorus:
Worthy is The Lamb who was slaughtered— to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”
13 And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang:
Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to The Lamb forever and ever.”
14 And the four living beings said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped
The Lamb.

Revelation 7:9-12 NLT
9 After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before The Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands.
10 And they were shouting with a great roar,
Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from The Lamb!”
11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings. And they fell before the throne with their faces to the ground and worshiped God.
12 They sang,
Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen.”

Revelation 15:2-4 NLT
2 I saw before me what seemed to be a glass sea mixed with fire. And on it stood all the people who had been victorious over the beast and his statue and the number representing his name. They were all holding harps that God had given them.
3 And they were singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of The Lamb:
Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, The Almighty. Just and true are your ways,
O King Of The Nations.
4 Who will not fear you, Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous deeds have been revealed.”

Revelation 21:22-27 NLT
22 I saw no temple in the city, for The Lord God Almighty and The Lamb are its temple.
23 And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and The Lamb is its light.
24 The nations will walk in its Light, and the kings of the world will enter the city in all their glory.
25 Its gates will never be closed at the end of day because there is no night there.
26 And all the nations will bring their glory and honor into the city.
27 Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in The Lamb’s Book of Life.

Long ago, Isaac spoke to his father...

Genesis 22:7,8 KJV
7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is The Lamb for a burnt offering?
8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide Himself a Lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

And God The Father, did provide a spotless (sinless) Lamb for His sacrifice, Jesus Christ His Son.

II Corinthians 5:21 KJV
For He hath made Him (The Lord Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Yes its true....

John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that He gave (sacrificed) His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
