Death-Victorious Over

Bible Questions Answered:
“...after the accident, you could just feel the awful stench of death in the air everywhere...”
Adrian/ Bavaria, Germany (Nuremberg)

Bible Answer:
Bible Text:
I Corinthians 15:25,26 NLT
25 For Christ must reign until He humbles all His enemies beneath His feet.
26 And the last enemy to be destroyed is death.

Our Living God, never created man to know fear, sickness, sorrow or death.
Death, is an enemy, separating loved ones, sometimes for the last time.

But our God is greater than death!

Three times The Lord Jesus conquered death, while on earth.

Mark 5:21-24; 35-43 NLT (The Raising of Jarius' daughter.)
21 Jesus got into the boat again and went back to the other side of the lake, where a large crowd gathered around Him on the shore.
22 Then a leader of the local synagogue, whose name was Jairus, arrived. When he saw Jesus, he fell at His feet,
23 pleading fervently with Him. “My little daughter is dying,” He said. “Please come and lay your hands on her; heal her so she can live.”
24 Jesus went with him, and all the people followed, crowding around Him.
35 While He was still speaking... messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling The Teacher now.”
36 But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.”
37 Then Jesus stopped the crowd and wouldn’t let anyone go with Him except Peter, James, and John (the brother of James).
38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw much commotion and weeping and wailing.
39 He went inside and asked, “Why all this commotion and weeping? The child isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.”
40 The crowd laughed at Him. But He made them all leave, and He took the girl’s father and mother and His three disciples into the room where the girl was lying.
41 Holding her hand, He said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means “Little girl, get up!”
42 And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around! They were overwhelmed and totally amazed.
43 Jesus gave them strict orders not to tell anyone what had happened, and then He told them to give her something to eat.

Luke 7:11-17 NLT (The raising the widow's son at Nain.)
11 Soon afterward Jesus went with His disciples to the village of Nain, and a large crowd followed Him.
12 A funeral procession was coming out as He approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her.
13 When The Lord saw her, His heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” He said.
14 Then He walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. “Young man,” He said, “I tell you, get up.”
15 Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother.
16 Great fear swept the crowd, and they praised God, saying, “A mighty prophet has risen among us,” and “God has visited His people today.”
17 And the news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding countryside.

John 11:1-44 KJV
1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 (It was that Mary which anointed The Lord with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
3 Therefore his sisters sent unto Him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 When Jesus heard that, He said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that
The Son Of God might be glorified thereby.
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
6 When He had heard therefore that He was sick, He abode two days still in the same place where He was.
7 Then after that saith He to His disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.
8 His disciples say unto Him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth The Light of this world.
10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no Light in him.
11 These things said He: and after that He saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
12 Then said His disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that He had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
16 Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto His fellow disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with Him.
17 Then when Jesus came, He found that he had lain in the grave four days already.
18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
19 And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him: but Mary sat still in the house.
21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24 Martha saith unto Him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Jesus said unto her, I am The Resurrection, And The Life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?
27 She saith unto Him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art The Christ, The Son Of God, which should come into the world.
28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto Him.
30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met Him.
31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.
32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying unto Him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, He groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto Him, Lord, come and see.
35 Jesus wept.
36 Then said the Jews, Behold how He loved him!
37 And some of them said, Could not this Man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
38 Jesus therefore again groaning in Himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto Him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up His eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard Me.
42 And I knew that thou hearest Me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent Me.
43 And when He thus had spoken, He cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

And our Lord, Himself was victorious over death and the grave!

John 10:17,18 KJV
17 Therefore doth My Father love Me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of My Father.

Romans 1:3,4 KJV
3 Concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of The Seed Of David according to the flesh;
4 And declared to be The Son Of God with power, according to The Spirit Of Holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

I Corinthians 15:3,4 KJV
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Our risen Savior, is triumphant!

Revelation 1:18 KJV
I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

God's Son our Savior will one day call all from the grave!

John 5:28,29 KJV
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;
and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

How wonderful will be the day, (coming) when death itself, will be destroyed!

I Corinthians 25,26 KJV
25 For He must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
