Bible Lesson: Parables-Our Lord's: The Mote And The Beam.
Bible Lesson: Parables-Our Lord's:
The Mote And The Beam.
Occasion: Admonishing The
Pharisees.
Lesson: Judge Not That Ye Be Not
Judged.
Bible Text:
Luke 6:37-42 KJV
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be
judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye
shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto
you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running
over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that
ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
39 And He spake a parable unto them,
Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the
ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his
master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote
that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in
thine own eye?
42 Either how canst thou say to thy
brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when
thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou
hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then
shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's
eye.
Luke 6:37-42
NLT
37 “Do not
judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or
it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be
forgiven.
38 Give, and
you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed
down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured
into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get
back.”
39 Then Jesus
gave the following illustration: “Can one blind person lead
another? Won’t they both fall into a ditch?
40 Students are
not greater than their teacher. But the student who is fully trained
will become like the teacher.
41 “And why
worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in
your own?
42 How can you
think of saying, ‘Friend, let me help you get rid of that speck in
your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye?
Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will
see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.
Luke 6:37,38 KJV
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be
judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye
shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given
unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and
running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same
measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
James 4:12 NLT
God alone, who
gave the law, is The Judge. He alone has the power to save or to
destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?
The Apostle Paul, but it this way.
Galatians 6:7
KJV
Be not
deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall
he also reap.
If you sow corn, you will not reap wheat, not very hard to
understand.
The servant of The Lord Jesus Christ, must be in character as He is!
Psalm 130:7 NLT
O Israel, hope
in The Lord; for with The Lord there is unfailing love. His
redemption overflows.
Romans 2:1-4;21
NLT
1 You may think
you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no
excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are
condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same
things.
2 And we know
that God, in His Justice, will punish anyone who does such things.
3 Since you
judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid
God’s judgment when you do the same things?
4 Don’t you
see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does
this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that His kindness is
intended to turn you from your sin?
21 Well then,
if you teach others, why don’t you teach yourself?..."
Romans 14:12,13
NLT
12 Yes, each of
us will give a personal account to God.
13 So let’s
stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that
you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.
Galatians
5:22,23 KJV
22 But the
fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith,
23 Meekness,
temperance (self-control): against such there is no law.
Ephesians 5:9
KJV
(For the fruit
of The Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and Truth;)
Luke 6:39 KJV
And He spake a parable unto them,
Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the
ditch?
One should not claim to be a spiritual leader of men, if he himself,
is not spiritually pure.
I John 1:5-10
KJV
5 This then is
the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that
God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say
that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and
do not
The Truth:
7 But if we
walk in The Light, as He is in The Light, we have fellowship one with
another, and The Blood Of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all
sin.
8 If we say
that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and The Truth is not in
us.
9 If we confess
our sins, He is Faithful and Just to forgive us our sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say
that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in
us.
I John 2:11 KJV
But he that
hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and
knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his
eyes.
Luke 6:40 KJV
The disciple is not above his
master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
Luke 6:43-46 KJV
43 For a good
tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree
bring forth good fruit.
44 For every
tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs,
nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45 A good man
out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is
good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth
forth that which is evil:
for of the
abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 And why call
ye Me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
I John
4:7-9;15-17 KJV
7 Beloved, let
us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is
born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that
loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was
manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only
begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
15 Whosoever
shall confess that Jesus is The Son Of God, God dwelleth in him, and
he in God.
16 And we have
known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he
that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is
our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of
judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.
II Corinthians
13:5 NLT
Examine
yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely
you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the
test of genuine faith.
Luke 6:41,42 KJV
41 And why beholdest thou the
mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that
is in thine own eye?
42 Either how canst thou say to
thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye,
when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and
then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy
brother's eye.
II Timothy
2:19-21 NLT
19 But God’s
Truth stands firm like a Foundation Stone with this inscription: “The
Lord knows those who are His,” and “All who belong to The Lord
must turn away from evil.”
20 In a wealthy
home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of
wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions,
and the cheap ones are for everyday use.
21 If you keep
yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your
life will be clean, and you will be ready for The Master to use you
for every good work.
