Body Piercing
Bible Questions Answered:
“I want to know if body piercing is
ok...”

Bible Answer:
Bible Texts:
No!
I Corinthians 6:19,20 KJV
19 What? know ye not that your
body is the temple of The Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye
have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a
price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God's.
Your body, is
“not,” your own, it belongs to The Creator, who bought your body
soul and spirit at a great price, that price being the cross of
Calvary, and His very life.
The Lord Jesus,
designed your body as a temple for The Holy Spirit.
I Corinthians
3:16,17 KJV
16 Know ye not that ye are the
temple of God, and that The Spirit Of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of
God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which
temple ye are.
In Old Testament
days, the heathen were noted for their piercing and cutting of the
flesh.
Leviticus 19:28
KJV
Ye shall not make any cuttings in
your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am The Lord.
Leviticus 19:28
NLT
Do not cut your bodies for the dead,
and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am The Lord.
In Old Testament
days, Baal worshipers, pierced and cut themselves as part of their
worship to Baal.
I Kings 18:28
NLT
So they shouted louder, and
following their normal custom, they cut themselves with knives and
swords until the blood gushed out.
It may shock the
world and that's OK, maybe it needs to be shocked once in awhile,
there are millions of people, who have never pierced their, ears,
tongues, hands or arms, nor ever had them tattooed! You know, they
are the same crazy people, who've never once had their first drink, or sex
outside of marriage, and why? Because they have dedicated their
bodies to The Lord!
Nazirite
Dedication:
Numbers 6:1-4
NLT (Read the whole chapter.)
1 Then The Lord said to Moses,
2 “Give the following instructions
to the people of Israel. “If any of the people, either men or
women, take the special vow of a Nazirite, setting themselves apart
to The Lord in a special way,
3 they must give up wine and other
alcoholic drinks. They must not use vinegar made from wine or from
other alcoholic drinks, they must not drink fresh grape juice, and
they must not eat grapes or raisins.
4 As long as they are bound by their
Nazirite vow, they are not allowed to eat or drink anything that
comes from a grapevine—not even the grape seeds or skins.
5 “They must never cut their hair
throughout the time of their vow, for they are holy and set apart to
The Lord. Until the time of their vow has been fulfilled, they must
let their hair grow long.
Mathew 21:10,11
KJV
10 And when He was come into
Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
11 And the multitude said, This is
Jesus The Prophet Of Nazareth Of Galilee.
It is never too
late to dedicate ones life to The Lord!
Psalm 1:1-6 KJV
1 Blessed is the man that walketh
not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of
sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of
The Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree
planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his
season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall
prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are
like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not
stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the
righteous.
6 For The Lord knoweth the way of
the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Matthew 6:33 KJV
But seek ye first the kingdom of
God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto
you.
Matthew 22:36-38
KJV
36 Master, which is the great
commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt
love The Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great
commandment.
Romans 12:1,2
KJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living
sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your
reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this
world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye
may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of
God.
II Corinthians
6:14-18 NLT (The Temple of The Living God)
14 Don’t team up with those who
are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness?
How can Light live with darkness?
15 What harmony can there be between
Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an
unbeliever?
16 And what union can there be
between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of
The Living God. As God said: “I
will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they
will be My people.
17 Therefore, come out from among
unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says
The Lord. Don’t touch their filthy
things, and I will welcome you.
18 And I will be your Father, and
you will be My sons and daughters, says
The Lord Almighty.
Colossians 3:17
NLT
And whatever
you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks through Him to God The Father.
